quote Fatherbrain30thats a shame, it would have been cool to fight "meta"-kraid... from the one movie i saw, the battle where you fight ridley while falling looks interesting, pretty novel idea.

Metroid Timeline:
Metroid 1 Metroid Zero Mission Metroid Prime Metroid Prime: Hunters Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Metroid 2: Return of Samus Super Metroid Metroid Fusion That is why Ridley is always reappearing. Because the games are released in the wrong order which means Ridley can be the same Ridley from another game already on the timeline. But if MP3 Ridley is organic I want to know how...

several thought come to mind when it is dealing with ridley. first those cybernetic implants could have more or less just been augmentation enhancements most of them superficially on the outside as opposed to replacing actual organs and such. because of that they could safely be removed without killing ridley and leaving him for the most part organic (kinda like 7 of 9 from star trek voyager)
another theory might be he becomes so incredibly infused with phazon that it corrupts and disintegrates the cybernetic implants and his phazon abilities are able to heal him. DS might end up eventually draining all the phazon corruption from ridley leaving him as the original and there is always cloning too. perhaps ridley actually dies in this one and the space pirates have a cloning program for their leaders. much like how the GFEDs load personality programs of their leaders and great minds into their computers ------------------- Confuscious say "Elevator smell very different to midget"

Perhaps the one in this game is a clone, because he looks similar to his future incarnation.
Of course then Zero Mission established he looked the same most of the series. Same for Kraid -------------------

Yeah, he might be a clone. I guess we'll just have to read the scan and find out.

Or maybe the Ridley from Metroid Fusion (the frozen 1) is actually the 'real' Ridley. This is a dumb theory but what if the original Ridley has been frozen the whole time and all the other Ridleys were clones? And then X-Ridley is the closest to fighting the original we'd get. Or they built the Mecha and Meta Ridleys because they got scraps of the original (Scraps of flesh from his blown up body) and put them in a tank the began to make them grow (Back into Ridley) it took ages (MP1, MPH, MP2) and finally was done (MP3) and they then used Phazon on him after his defeat. Or if MP3 has a Meta Ridley perhaps it takes this game aswell for the DNA to grow into Ridley again?

re: Boss Battles |

Ok let me explain in this...again.
M:o/ZM: Original Ridley and Mecha Ridley. The latter just being an advanced machine made in his form. MO: Original "cybenetic" Ridley (Meta-Ridley). Apparent Death in the game. This is the original, the scans back me up. MP3: Yet Unknown. Possibly Original or a clone. SM: I'm pretty sure this is a clone, but maybe it goes with Morbide's theory (Good one by the way) MF: That frozen fossil is Ridley from Super. The one you fight is an X-clone. What freaked me out was how his eyes glowed like if he was still alive and then collapsed. He'll definitly return for more games. -------------------

quote Fatherbrain30Nice summarisation there FatherBrain. To be honest I have little to no idea of what form Ridley is in for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Is he a clone? Or something else? Perhaps when he fell down the crater in Metroid Prime, he became corrupted by Phazon. Eventually he was able to fly off of Talon IV to exact revenge on Samus, in his phazon-corrupted state. ------------------- ![]()

re: Boss Battles |

In MP1 didn't the Chozo Statues blow Meta Ridley up? 1 theory that I dismissed before but now I've thought through it:
Could Ridley actually be numerous creatures? I dismissed this because Ridley is supposed to be the last of his race and they're all called Ridley but what if Ridley is a title the Space Pirates deem to the dragons when another 1 dies. The flaw is why create Mechanical versions then? Well I thought what if there are only 1 or 2 left? They make the mechs as a replacement then have to use the other Rid's but then they're all dead? Dumb theory but could work... At a guess I think maybe, just maybe all the Ridleys are 1 in the same. Dunno how but surely there's a reason they're all called Ridley. You could name a clone anything like Ridley 1.2 or Ridley-A or Gamma Ridley are somethin along the lines yet they keep the same name. Could there be someway of keeping Ridley alive through these games? And another thought I had was could have healing properties? Or stimulate growth and make cells reproduce faster? If so maybe the organic parts of Meta Ridley came into contact with Phazon and over time (MPH, MP2) grew back into Ridley just corrupted by Phazon. Then later in the game he loses Phazon and is an organic Ridley? Because Meta Ridley blew up (I think) but parts of him may have fallen into Phazon. If so then there isn't a Meta-Ridley in MP3...

Wow, interesting theory there Zaraze.
Firstly, the force from the Chozo Statues knocks Ridley down into the depths of the crater. About your theory, it certainly could be the case. After all, how does 1 Ridley keep dying and yet reappearing later. Though we know the original Ridley and Meta-Ridley are the same, who is to suggest Ridley that Ridley is not one of multiple creatures who are the exact same? On the other hand, this also applies to the 'clone' theory. It is likely the multiple Ridley's are just cloned versions of the original, rather than being part of the same race. Who knows, honestly. ------------------- ![]()

Or if miracously it's the same one. Nice theory about the multiple one, they never exactly explaine the term "Space Dragon". Is he the last of his race, or a genetically created creature?
I really hope they clear all of his background on MP3. -------------------

Yeah that would indeed be very nice. I'm sure countless Metroid fans are still wondering what is going on with Ridley.
