This is only my speculation.

Do not read this unless you want to ruin the secret endings to prime one and two.

You probably remember that at the end of the first prime Metroid prime turns into a big unstable mass of crap and tries to pull you. But the phazon suit comes off and you get away.

Well those of you that have gotten a one hundred percent file know that the phazon suit was enough to stabilize prime and that prime lived in the suit. Remember the ending cinema where the hand with the eye pops out of the phazon crap?

Well the dark Samus in prime 2 has an eye on its hand a well. And those off you that got a one hundred percent file on the 2 prime know that dark Samus is still alive.

Is metroid prime still alive? If so what is its role in prime three?

Sorry if this is obvious to all of you or I make no sense. I was just wondering what people thought.

Well, Nintendo really isn't one to slip eggs like that into a series as big as Metroid without doing something about them (usually, at least), so I'd say its a safe bet to assume they'll be present in MP3. However, one thing thats for sure is that if they weren't actually killed off in the other 2 games, they're sure as hell going to die in the next one. The Metroid Prime series takes place in between Metroid and Metroid II. In Metroid II, Samus goes off to SR388 to eliminate the Metroids for good, and from there the series leaves an impossibly small amount of wiggle room to be throwing in plot twists.

I never actually got all 100% on either game. Global Services CEO, are you trying to say Dark Samus is a descendant from Metroid Prime?

Dark Samus is Metroid Prime - remember at the end of Prime how MP stole Samus's Phazon Suit?

Well Metroid Prime gained the ability to use this suit technology, thus transforming itself into Dark Samus.

we can assume metroid prime is DS. there are a lot of things that lead us to believe this. The above mentioned "eye" on dark samus' hand is not really a good indicator though. in the 100% ending of MP we see the eye blink. however in mp2 not once did the circle on DS' hand move at all. infact it more resembles the circle on samus' power armor than it does the eye seen in the 100% ending.

Before anyone chews my head off cause they think i am saying DS isnt mp i want to reiterate that i am not saying that. i am just saying a statement of "MP IS DS" can't be made. its only an assumption. frankly a good asumption but thats all it is.

Like I said it is only my theory that Dark Samus is Metroid Prime living as the phazon suit. After all MP was full of phazon and drew his power from it. And we all know that DS was obsessed with absorbing phazon.

I also thought it could be some kind of tradition to make Metroid Prime the final boss of every prime game. MP in prime I, MP as DS in prime II, and I always thought that Metroid Prime would be the final boss in prime III. This is also nothing but an idea I had. Just wondering did everyone already think about this.

Yeah, I'm expecting that we'll face Metroid Prime is his previous form again, or at least something similar to that.

Perhaps we will have to damage DS to the point where she changes into Metroid Prime.

That's why I always wanted and dreamed, it would be more epic.

Besides we need a big bad monster at the end. But it should look even more fearsome than in MP1. Something so big, so powerful, it shouldn't exist.

it would be cool to battle DS again. Every time I found myself playing against her, I was like, "oh cool! Im battling Dark Samus" I even fought her twice every time I confronted her. She shouldnt become MP, I found it annoying to defeat that mounstrosity.

I found that ending boring, but interesting to know DS was still alive.

I agree they really should give you more for getting a one hundred percent file. Remember how metroid prime in its final form was only hurt by phazon? I think a big battle against prime in MP3 where you have to use hyper mode in some weird way is not unlikely.

Yeah GS, I'm expecting the final battle against MP to utilise the Hyper Mode quite significantly.
