I cannot beat him because of the dumb Pikmin
abilities. The yellow gimps my recovery 10 thousand fold.

I can't speak for Ness, but with Lucas, Fsmash and aerials are your friends.

your n air helps shrug pikmin, you generally want to stay close range and keep oli in the air, use your double-jump to standard b to edge-guard/hog, or just b air and occasionaly d air.(this won't work as often as usual)

PK fire can't be abused if Oli uses a red pikmin and f smash or if it's between you.

Well when I fight olimar with Ness, I basically charge him alot. Using dash and fair. If you keep him in the air, do not stay close to him, he packs a punch. Best thing to do is stay far above or below him and then quickly jolt in with a Uair or Dair. give your self some distance and shoot close range thunders at him to keep him on his toes. When he throws pikman at you jump and Nair to shake em, or do a quick ^smash. If he starts getting close just shoots some fires and keep a good amount of space then wait for your opportunity to charge him.

With Lucas the thunder attack thing helps... but with lucas you can stay closer to Olimar because his pikman are easier to shake. Just do short hops around him and Dair and Nair and Bair. I pretty sure all but yellow pikman get knocked off from that. The fire helps too (your stick as well, but really to just stop olimars attack, Like I said stay sorta close roll around him jump above him, keep small relentless attacks going and then give him a smash when he least expects it, then edgeguard him because his recovery fails. Do not try and grab him with either character, its useless.

try that.

I'm not so sure as a foolproof way to do with Ness, but Lucas:
keep spamming PK Thunder on Olimar, and when his damage is good enough (possibly around 60's, should be good) use Up smash. That's sure to send him flying.

Ness:
Pk Fire can catch him off guard, with the fact that it burns for awhile. then, try trowing him off the screen, if possible. (or in the red bulborb's mouth, for a few laughs.)

i say use pk thunder to block the pikmin then use it against olimar.

Like I said in the other post, my main is Pit, and Oli's still the only lvl 9 I still get the snot beat out of my by (other than Luigi, but I'm not gonna talk about him for atleast a nother week )

I play Lucas as a secondary though. What I do is use the dodge tactics I use on Pit in a Lucas kind of way. Get in close behind him and give the bowl-head a baseball bat to the globe. Roll out, PK fire, jump back run in and nail him with the bat again.

That's just 1 scenario off the top of my head.

I have an easier time with Lucas than Pit.

Lucas has decent ranged attacks, including PK Fire which is a fast ranged that does decent damage. It also lasts a few seconds and keeps him distracted- plenty of time to get in and give him a bat to the face. If you get in fast enough feel free to charge it up some to give yourself that fuzzy feeling in your stomach when it connects

I have had this problem lots of times before when I need to recover using pk missle but I have a pikmin attached and it does not work. I just use pk fire and grab though. Don't use pk thunder when the pikmin are attached though it does not work!
