re: SOS Brigade presents: "Class with CM! Lesson #2 up!" |

Lolz, ok PoS, I'll discuss moar =p
Why should I stick with Marth if he's getting me no where. I dropped him over a month ago and have been using mostly Snake with a little ROB and Kirby and I have already been doing A LOT better. The matchups are better/easier and Snake is a better character...I also like Snake from MGS xD. I also recieve a lot of extra Snake help from the smashers in my region (Candy, Greg, etc.) whereas finding Marth help was hard and I feel like there was little improvement for him, it was merely pointing the c stick in the right direction =p that's an exaggeration I know but Marth is an easy character to learn and he doesn't improve too much...Of course Marth is tourney viable but only as a secondary like how Azen uses him, only at certain times in certain matchups, you just can't main him...CK is trying but with little success, maybe in a MK banned tourney? maybe...but I'm still against the ban anyway so... Lolz, every character doesn't have a crippling matchup with MK. IMO(so it's opinion), from discussion with fellow players, I'd say it's even with Snake, Wario and ICs, probably around 40-60 or 45-55 with Falco, Diddy, and MAYBE Kirby(more 40-60 for Kirby but yeah =/)...So there are possible matchups for MK, he doesn't shut down everyone... True, we don't have any premier marth mains but there aren't that many premier marth mains anymore, goes back to 'how many people have won a decent sized tourney using only Marth?' and the answer not many if there have been any lately...My Marth has 2 stocked Lobos xD just saying. I'm repeating myself too D= We agree that the matchup is hard but possible but I think you think it's more possible then it really is...have you ever played some MK pros? It's really hard =/ ------------------- ![]() ~Thanks Sandstone for the Sig~ Brawl FC: 1203-8989-6280 Tag: LWOR

Mmhmm, I'd probably be willing to have a discussion with some people on neo (the people I talk to most prolly, lolz) but neo as a community is bleh when it comes to brawl, at least compared to my offline friends...

quote koreanstriker93I know what you're saying. It seems like whenever I play and improve, my friends offline seem to improve as well...like when I improve, they improve to match me...and vice versa. That's why they are better than most of the people I usually play. But when you play people online...I dunno why, but that doesn't happen. So its either they got it or they don't. ------------------- Look at Yami Bakura's hair.

quote Persona MCI'm not saying playing online brings no improvement, look at Ally and Anti, playing online has helped them a lot...I don't see myself improving too much playing on neo but that's because we don't play seriously, I don't even play singles on neo, lolz. And I play with the best in the region so I'm a lot worse then them and am always improving and still getting raped, lol. ------------------- ![]() ~Thanks Sandstone for the Sig~ Brawl FC: 1203-8989-6280 Tag: LWOR

Oh, I wasn't implying that online doesn't improve you...cause I've improved drastically compared to when I joined in November...what I meant was...playing the same person over and over doesn't seem to bring too much improvement online...but playing a wide variety of people online certainly helped me.

re: SOS Brigade presents: "Class with CM! Lesson #2 up!" |
quote Persona MCYeah, online can help a lot but offline > online...and there's learning the matchup, your character, sometimes frames, etc...a lot of hardcore stuff like frame data and threads on matchups aren't seen on neo but it's not as big as like swf or aib because neo isn't dedicated to smash so it's understandable... ------------------- ![]() ~Thanks Sandstone for the Sig~ Brawl FC: 1203-8989-6280 Tag: LWOR

re: SOS Brigade presents: "Class with CM! Lesson #2 up!" |
quote koreanstriker93Yeah thats true...I have to admit, I was improving in short spurts...but after a while, I sorta got a great understanding of my character through reading numerous topics on SWF and watching tourney videos and experience...so I have my own way of using my main. Then reading my opponent seemed to improve and that helped a lot. But when it comes to knowing all the information I need about my character...I just head to SWF. ------------------- Look at Yami Bakura's hair.

Frame Data, Character Guides, Matchup Guides, Vids, etc. only help so much though...you have to play the game to get better. Understanding those things about your characters will make you a much better smasher definitely but don't forget to practice tech, mindgames, reading your opponent, etc. or you won't improve as much as you can be improving.

re: SOS Brigade presents: "Class with CM! Lesson #2 up!" |
quote koreanstriker93Well I got most of that down...not so much tech skill though...but I play almost always online...so I can't really perform it well there...and if mindgames is the same as tricking my opponent into things...than I have that. Everything else I do for sure. ------------------- Look at Yami Bakura's hair.

re: SOS Brigade presents: "Class with CM! Lesson #2 up!" |
quote Persona MCThat's the thing though, imo you never have it down 100%, the mindgame that works on one player might not work on the next so you have to try different things, different approaches, making things not obvious, trying and working new mindgames, you always have to be thinking ------------------- ![]() ~Thanks Sandstone for the Sig~ Brawl FC: 1203-8989-6280 Tag: LWOR
