I think it's interesting reading the banter about who should be the new mod. And I can appreciate Mr. Gotenks' consideration of the community's opinion. I know that I have not been here very long, but since I believe I am part of the community (in good or bad standing), I think a good moderator would be someone new (as far as not having been a moderator before). I think it would be a great opportunity for that person to learn from anothere excellent moderator. Plus, although new guys tend to be a bit nicer at first, they definitely push their weight around once they come into their own. I don't think that the troll/spam thing is such an emergency that immediate action/banning must be taken asap. Why not open it up for someone new to take up the reigns? Even if that person is not well-liked, that would be all the more reason for him/her to be strict. It would also keep members from taking the liberties that they might otherwise take advantage of with a moderator that they know better (in assuming that the moderator will favor them).

I would like you to be redirected to Quierta, who got her first modship six months after joining and a limited number of posts, and ctrl, who, if I remember correctly was banned, permabanned, then offered modship.

The number of posts you have does not affect your chances of becoming a moderator or increase your 'greatness'.
Someone with only 100 posts could be promoted instead of someone with 10000 posts if they were mature, helpful and used good grammar. I'ms sure that whoever Brad picks, if he does, will do very well in this forum. ------------------- | |

Sonic Flash got his first mod position with under 100 posts I believe. And I got my mod position at like 15,000 posts. Then again I never bothered to apply for mod positions a lot.
But yes, post counts don't have much of a say for if you should be a Moderator or not. You guys still go under the impression that I will get a second Moderator in here. I never said there would be for sure. It's a long process for me to decide if there is need for a second Moderator and as well who I think would fit best.
