If there are INDEED more symbols being added, it makes most sense that newcomers symbols would go after the veteran symbols, which most do already. Any new symbols would be after this count, thusly.

That is an interesting point. The first new symbol starts with AC at 15, with all the new series behind and returning series in front. This would seem to point out that 13 would be taken up by the final returning symbol, Mr. Game and Watch.

That's a good point. It would seem very much that the list will go beyond 18, seeing as (if included) G&W has yet to be entered, as well as Metal Gear's icon in there. You would then think maybe they'll have a Pikmin stage/character, and maybe other series. I mean, this is just speculation, but it seems fairly likely.

Marcibanjo, You are misunderstanding the point of this thread. Each post on the site has an icon in its upper left hand corner, representing the game series that that update is from. For example, Mario has the Mushroom, Link the triforce, etc. BUT, these symbols represent the game series, not unnecessarily an individual character.
The symbol for every series that had a character in Melee has been posted up on the website, excluding G&W. Since I doubt they would incorporate G&W themed items/stages without including G&W, and the fact that the numbering system, as is written out on the first post, is broken up into what appears to be series playable in Melee and series appearing in Brawl, I am theorizing that G&W will return, and that his symbol will occupy the returning spot number 13.

As for Mewtwo, if he is in he would have the pokeball symbol, which is already listed.

Oogity, I also think we will go beyond 18 series. I can't imagine they would include Animal Crossing things without also including Pikmin, as well as several other series I hope are included.
