The way it is with mine is that you go through and pay off your game in full before midnight, and then you hop in the line with everybody else. Then at midnight they open the doors and you show them your receipt.

They then stamp it and you're on your way. The clerk told me they had about 200 or so pre-orders for Halo 3, and he said that they got them ALL in and out the door starting at midnight, finishing at 12:20, so I'm pretty optimistic about getting this game fairly soon after showing up.

Yeah they have done them so much they have it down now so I'm just going to walk to my retailer and get a copy as I didn't pre-order

Has anyone (in the UK) got the game delivered from the shop GAME? If so, was it regular delivery or special delivery?

I think that, at mine, they do the receipt thing so they don't have to type in your name and everything. They can just do a quick glance at the date and game title? I'm not sure, this is the first time I've done this at this Gamestop.

I'm not sure why they don't just use their computer. Maybe stamping is faster that a couple keystrokes? I donno.

I live in New Zealand by the way, our time zone is set so that we get the game first. Finally we get something before America and Japan. Pity it's a once in a life time thing.

I don't think the reason your time zone is set is so you can get GTA IV early!

Well, it's past 9:00am and still no delivery! GAME can *bleep* off, they sent the normal delivery games out on Friday/Saturday so they'll most likely be here today for people who didn't pay for the special delivery postage! How *bleep*ed up is that?

If it doesn't come today then that's my leave wasted for today!! What's the point paying for Special Delivery when it's not gonna get to ya 'til after the people who ordered and got free delivery? How GA(Y)ME!!

I have no idea when it will turn up. I have ordered stuff from Game before and got free express delivery and one turned up the day before release day and the other turned up on release day even though both were despatched about 4-5 days before the official release date. It says mine was posted around 11.30am on Saturday but with free delivery 2 business days so I would be surprised if it arrived today, more than likely it will arrive tomorrow but i've got everything crossed.

That's the thing though, they sent out your copy and other copies which were sent with free delivery on Saturday, some even got sent out on Friday! Whereas mine and other Special Delivery orders weren't sent out 'til Sunday, meaning they'll arrive on Tuesday according to the Royal Mail site.

My point being, what the *bleep*'s the point in having a special delivery service when you can get a free delivery service and stand a good chance of getting your copy early!?

I can see where you coming from. Don't you have to pay £4.95 extra for the special delivery? I was tempted to pay the extra but then decided that it probably wasn't worth it. They seem to get most new games well before the release date and send out so that people get it for release day. If I was buying it say next month and wanted it to arrive asap then the special delivery would arrive 1 day before the standard mail but with pre orders it seems like that goes out the window, just my opinion anyway.

Ha! Yes, I've found that out to my expense (both the £5 extra on postage, and the 7.5 hours on my annual leave I've used today to be in to sign for it) seeing it was sent yesterday I was kinda expecting it to come today! Obviously there's still time for it to come today, but I very much doubt it will.

I took today and tomorrow off work to make sure I was in when it arrived. No way am I waiting until Saturday to collect it from the post office. Thing is, i'm normally at work so I have no idea what time the post normally comes during the week and I know for a fact that my other half has arranged for something she ordered to be collected. So someone will knock on my door today, i'm praying it is the postie with GTAIV but more than likely it will be someone come to collect a dress to be returned!

My copy's in the store, waiting for me to go pick it up tomorrow. They're open midnight, for the first time ever here in Finland..
