re: turn signals

You mean the lights on the cars which indicate the way the car's going to turn?

No, I don't think there's a way to do it sorry.

^^ That's a good point. Imagine if we got arrested/chased down for not indicating properly; it'd be like a terrible driving lesson sim

MAN! Even old Driver 2 had this feature. All you had to do was keep the stick slightly tilted in a direction and the blinker came on.

re: turn signals

Oh, I see what you mean now. I thought you meant changing them manually. That would be a nice touch but considering how recklessly people drive the indicators would be going like crazy.

re: turn signals

I think this is a great feature in IV, and was very well implemented. Honestly, why would you want to be able to use a turn signal? It would add nothing to the gameplay at all. The fact that the Ped cars have it is to the player's benefit and is all that the game needs. What's next, getting one star for "failure to signal"?

Actually, it was the original Driver.

But it would have just been a nice little addition if it worked in the same way.

But I don't think they were really planning on people driving normally, so they didn't feel the need to add them in.

The Getaway as well, but they're the only games.
I like turn signals. Sometimes I like to cruise like a normal person in a fast car. Ya know, drive in lanes and stuff, but hoon past cars if they're going to slow...And indicating is a good part of the realism.
But it's something the peds NEED to have. San Andreas...Those damn highways...

re: turn signals

Weren't the turn signals in the Getaway automatic, like a kind of organic radar? Like if you had to go right at the next junction to reach your objective, the right indicator would start flashing...That was actually a pretty good idea there, if a little bit vague at times.

re: turn signals

I remember when Driver came out. I thought the cars were so realistic and at times I wanted to obey the rules, using turn signals and such. I made many failed attempts to drive without loosing my hubcaps. What pissed me off the most though was that if you looked at the turn signals, both the front and rear signals were red.

Lol the fact that they're red really pisses you off?

Yep, but in free roam you could operate them yourself.
Thing about the indicators telling you where to go, in The Getaway they could break
That leaves you a bit stuck.

re: turn signals

It only pissed me off because they were trying to be realistic and the front signals were red when they should have been yellow. I dunno, it was just one of the details that bugged me. I won't say it pisses me off but in Gta Iv just like any Driver game if you knock out a headlight you still have the full light pattern unless both are knocked out. I guess what I see as obvious others do not. oh well, everything can't be perfect.

My god, don't even joke like that!

If we ever have a GTA where we have to follow traffic laws, I'm not playing it.

It would be cool if it was something that could be toggled or if it was something put on for certain missions. I'm sure some people would enjoy the feature, and it would certainly make the game more challenging.

re: turn signals

Don't joke, remember in VC, how cops would give you a star for crashing into another ped car? That was really annoying.
