the worst thing about iv was the universe it was set in. very restrictive. i much preferred the san andreas universe, more variety.

By universe you mean liberty City/New York City? And no, it wasn't because of that. I guarantee you even if it was set up in SA, it wouldn't be any different.

re: You think Rockstar may be going back to the original GTA style with GTA V? |
quote Final Blade That makes me laugh.Personally I think even with FAR less than D3, Driver is FAR better than Driver 3. I would even say that GTAIV is WAY better than Driver 3 and you may remember how much I went on about how disappointing and boring GTAIV was. Anyway if they don't at least partly go back to the old style GTA, I will not be purchasing the next one.By this I mean they better at least give us wacky side missions or at least more and better fun side missions and make it FAR less serious than IV.I don't mind some seriousnes, like the serious parts of VCS but don't make it so serious that it makes you feel like slitting your wrist because of the drama.Don't care if they keep the realistic handling but I hope they don't sap out most of the fun by giving us another slow arse lead character that is about as durable as a wet paper bag. Also give us more decent weapons. ------------------- You don't have to earn my respect. You begin with it and just have to keep it.

I never played Driver so I wouldn't know how that one is like. I've played Driv3r and thought it was loads of fun.

quote Gamesta100I don't know how anyone could say that. Driv3r has a lot of problems, but being worse than Driver 1 isn't one of them. What Driv3r did was build almost perfectly on the Driver franchise in every way, and did it well. The problem was that GTA was out by then, which made it look terrible, and it just wasn't that polished. I loved Driv3r, I really did. It pretty much did everything I wanted it to. -------------------

quote ChiroVetteThe trailer only showed an APC. quote Ville_ValoThat's a poor excuse to blame a game for the poor quality of another. Driver 3 is one of the worst and broken games I've ever seen. I picked up "Episodes from Liberty City" yesterday and I can assure all of the haters out there that the content is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade from the standalone IV disc. The storyline and gameplay are much better than IV.
Both episodes begin with pretty amazing gunfights which showcase some of the new toys you'll have at your disposal. BoGT in particular starts off with a pretty wicked battle on a loading dock in Brooklyn. It seems like Rockstar is answering critics who said IV lacked action and was too focused on mundane everyday life. It's the first time I can remember a GTA title starting the player out with a huge arsenal of weapons and a number of high dollar value missions to build your bankroll. The gameplay also allows run-and-gun style approaches. I've been out of cover for entire missions without getting killed. The combination of better weaponry and run and gun makes BoGT incredibly fun. Keep in mind that I've completed maybe 2 or 3 missions and a few side missions and I can already see that this game has the potential to be a classic.

quote Ville_ValoVille, Driv3r came out few months before GTA SA. The only reason why driv3r didn't seem great is cause everyone ciricle jerked and hyped up SA. While SA was an awesome fun game, it isn't the greatest. Master, I don't know how you can call it broken. If that's the case, it's the most polished, terrific broken game on the market. Everything about it from my standpoint was incredible fun. Cop chases was a blast and saving replays of it was even better. You can't do that on GTA. ------------------- Welcome to Crisis Core forum Welcome to Bad Company 2 God of War 3 official forum community

Actually, Driv3r came out around the same time as Vice City. I actually have that game and never even so much as booted it up. I think I will crack it open and play it on the 360, just to check it out. I am pretty sure it will play it with the 360's BC.
