(here comes what i'm questioning) WARNING: this sword requires Wraithguard to be worn to wield.

why? none of that is bad... you can use it for a few seconds and become godlike... and if your speed gets too high... a simple Drain Speed 100 pts on self for any duration will negate the fortified points that remain after you unequip it... i'm gonna save first... but i'm gonna go look for this sword and fortify my junk...

Sunder is the sameway. The game actually states that when they tell you about Keening and Sunder. I guess they just didn't want to make the game to easy.

so there is no hidden side-effect to using Keening... is what you're saying? correct? spiffy...

No, no hidden side effects unless you don't know to equip Wraithguard first and then if you equip it without the Wraithguard...well, dig a hole! LOL

xeno, keening doesn't do any negatives... why would i have to dig a hole after equipping it without wraithguard? that's why i'm asking if there's any hidden side-effects... like things that it doesn't say... everything keening says it does is good...

Ya, I want to know about that too, here is the situation in my mind right now.

"I gotta stop taking skooma, my mind is going."

"You have not equiped Wraithguard, prepare to die."

"You can't kill me!"

"NUCLEAR KAMIKAZI KEENING!"

if there are no bad effects to keening just wield it! y do u have to ask us if you can wield it? if ur not sure about something save then try it so if something bad happens u can reload. anyway after you wield it it says something about getting damaged for wielding it without wraithguard and ur health drains very fast. i guess its too godlike or something for a normal person to use without special equipment which is the wraithguard

2. Laj, thankyou for answering my question. The reason i was asking is because i don't have the sword, i was wondering if it was worth going to get before i have wraithguard. So, i would've used it without wraithguard if i had it... but i posted because i wanted to know if it was worthe my time and aggravation to go get now... aggravation because i'm sure my game would freeze fifty times before i ever got the sword and about fifty more times as i try to pick it up... long post short, thanks for telling me the effect...

I'm lost in this conversation...Anywho, Sunder and Keening are considered super-weapons and if you equip them without Wraithguard you will die. Go ahead and try it. I did and my son did and both our characters died almost instanteously. Wraithguard protects you from their powers. Now, I know what they're constant effected with aren't bad, but this is just one of the quirks of the game. Trust me, your health will drop in less than 2 seconds to 0. Just because a great,powerful thing is good doesn't mean just anyone can wield it. That is what separates the common man from the one of destiny. The one of destiny will follow the correct path and take the appropriate steps. How is that for an answer?

2) stop bringing up old threads when they aren't needed...people know about the 100+ health damage when equipping Sunder or Keening without wraithguard
