Which would you guys rather have: Final Fantasy XIII or a remake of Final Fantasy VII?

That's a nice question you know, related to the chart I posted I presume. Although I think my choice would fall on Final Fantasy XIII almost hands down. I think I have a simple reason: I prefer to play a whole new game than play a revamped version of an old classic.

Just like Gonzab, I'd rather have a new game than a game I've already played and completed. It's not like the story will change.

Though an FFVII remake would be awesome, I'd rather have a new game that I don't know the plot to, don't know the controls and is a fresh, new experience. New game>Old game with extra content + better graphics.

But an FFVII remake would likely not even have the same gameplay. So it would still be a fresh experience, gameplay wise.

Sure, but I'm much more eager to know more about the story and characters of Final Fantasy XIII than just get Final Fantasy VII remade just for the gameplay. Then again they might not change it anyway.

FFXIII without a doubt.

FFVII Remake.

New FF games have been pretty mediocre in the last few years. I'm not holding my breath for FFXIII or FFvsXIII because chances are I'll just be disappointed yet again.

Sure, Squeenix will probably *bleep* up a FFVII Remake too. (they've already ruined the Compilation). But seeing the entire game in good graphics would be awesome.

I would take FFXIII. A remake would be nice and all, but there is always the original, which they can't mess up in any ways

I agree GG, I gave up on Final Fantasy after FFX. That was the last FF game I liked, now I don't care what they produce.

It's like disney, although at least Enchanted was good.

FFXIII for me, as everybody should know I hate remakes and I would pick a original title over a remake any day

I would definately go for a RE of FF7 coz even though we would know the story line it would be cool to see all the maps, towns, people and monsters in better graphics!

there's no way in *bleep* I would trade any new Square-Enix game for FF7 Remake.. well I would for a Xenogears remake though

I totally disagree with those who are saying that the latest FF games have been somewhat mediocre. If your including spin-offs in this opinion then I agree with you completely, so disregard this next comment :

The last Final Fantasy game in the main series was XII. You may say it was a mediocre game, but that was because it was delayed so many times. The hype just couldn't keep up with the game itself.
The game before that, Final Fantasy X, was amazing. I you didn't like X then chances are your just a fan of the original games and so your not going to enjoy anything that Square chuck at you now.
My point is that your basing your opinion on 1 game in the series. Just because you didn't enjoy one game doesn't mean you would enjoy the game. I hate VIII. I love IX though.

In answer to the question though, if I wanted to play VII I could just pop the disc in right now and enjoy it rather, than watch Square milk the *bleep* out of it in a remake =D

I'll go for both. Yes i know its not the question but We are already getting FF13 and Versus in 8 months or so, and SE pretty much stated a remake will happen in the near future so im choosing both.

FF12 was bad cause of the full blown political storyline, no character development and uselessness of Espers with the story. Anything after that I would say was good.
FF10 was the last best FF game.</sub>
