Playing a Girl |
|
Does anyone feel weird playing a girl as the main character. Not being sexist but traditionally they are usually male and the only way it could work is if the main character is a tom boy.

O__o. Oh dear. No, I really do not at all. I don't see why you would feel weird playing as a girl rather than a guy. Assuming that it is no sexist (Which it still is, mind you) I would guess that you feel less connected with the character and can't relate to it. Well, do you usually carry around swords that are 20 feet tall (Or swords at all for that matter?). I personally don't really care about the main character´s gender, but its nice that there is still some variety to be had. ------------------- ![]() Don't eat my rose, silly sheep.

It doesn't bother me...
I think though..and this probably will be controversial, but I think that's why so many people seem to hate FF X-2..if X-2 had been a bunch of guys out trying to find a missing princess for example I feel it would have been much more popular... One guy if I recall correctly told me on one of the forums how much he hated Paine..I didn't understand it..still don't..... I wonder if they will like Lighning or if they will come up with some reason not to...Because some people say she will be like a female Cloud I guess they will be comforted by that and excuse the fact she's not a male...

I really don't care. As long as the gameplay isn't s***ty and the story is good, I'm fine.

There was no problem with Heavenly Sword, FF13 won't be any different.

good topic, this has actually been brought up in a couple discussion around the net, around my hometown, etc.
I am not sexist by any means, but I am a little curious, skeptical, hesitant to have a female as the lead of a FF game. You just do not see it very often and it brings a new twist to the game. She doesnt look all "girlie" from what we have seen, so I dont think I will feel like a pansy playing this game like I kinda did with FFX-2. -------------------

I. Don't. Mind.
At all, really. It's original, refreshing and nice to see a change like that, I'm eager to actually play with her. Besides, it's not the first time you get a female lead in a videogame. Even in Final Fantasy we've had female protagonists, so I don't really see the point. -------------------

I'm glad we're playing as a female character this time around, rather than the same ol' typical whiny effeminate boys that have plagued the last few FF games (and movies).

I enjoy playing as either gender it doesn't make me feel weird or anything.
If I get the choice I just pick who I think looks better, but I like the change of playing with a girl. ------------------- Gone Fission: Blog Centaurus-A | Decrepit Birth | Gorod | Necrophagist | Nile | Psycroptic | Revocation

I really don't mind playing as a girl.
it's not like it's the first rpg with a female protagonist, I had no problems playing as chicks before.

Eww, girls are icky. [/nineyearold]
But as GG said, I'm sick of the recent FF's whiny blond-haired protagonists. I mean come on, Vaan was like 100% recycled Tidus. It's nice to see a change. ------------------- ѕ ι ℓ н σ υ є т т є
