You can also add a possible new Shin Megami Tensei as a PS3 exclusive too. It's a major RPG franchise and one the PS3 should absolutely try to keep.

I was just thinking that too
 Persona 4 is coming out for the PS2 next month, I think, so it can't be long before they start thinking of developing a game for a next gen console and I don't see why they wouldn't choose to stay with Sony ? ----- EDIT : Just found this. I'll add it to the list =DD -------------------  | |

I had already found this when I made the other post, otherwise I wouldn't tell you to add to the list.
 So, about now we have a pretty nice list of upcoming RPG's for the PS3. If all goes this way I think the PS3 can beat the 360 easily on that game genre. ------------------- | |

I'm so *meh* about Final Fantasy games lately, I'll be THRILLED if another upcoming game ends up being better. Why are you guys counting how many games each console has?
I thought it was quality over quantity, no? On another note, I don't remember any company as sucessfull as SE on the RPG market, mind you. Just because their last titles weren't masterpieces doesn't mean they're all shit, imo. I still have hope. Besides, MGS4 > Xbox 360's games.  -------------------  | |

Funny, FFXII's battle system was equally outdated yet reviewers harped on about how "fantastic" and "innovative" it was. Biased pricks. >_> I'll be willing to bet that Squeenix's Star Ocean and Infinite Undiscovery won't go multiplat, simply so they can get a leg-up in the 360 JRPGs. At the moment, Sakaguchi's RPGs are the best selling 360 games in Japan, and Squeenix probably wouldn't be too happy about their ex-main man doing so well and getting so much praise, while their own games are on a steady decline. ------------------- | |

On the FFXI side of things, a lot of 360 fans count it as an exclusive due to the fact that it doesn't appear on any next gen. console other than the 360. Much like Mass Effect at the moment. Its a Microsoft exclusive, not a 360 exclusive, but it is still classed as one.
Admittedly, Lost Odyssey was a good game and I can't wait to have a glimpse at Cry-On ( Sakaguchi' next game, which will be an Action-RPG ) but I still can't get away with Blue Dragons style. Plainly put, I think it looks *bleep* ugly =D The thing with Mistwalker' RPGs is that Sakaguchi and his team create the characters, scenarios and plotlines, but the development is outsourced to companies set up my Microsoft for that sole purpose, which has lead to all of the bugs etcetcetc that you've probably heard about.
