Continuing our report on a recent feature in Japan's Ge-maga monthly games magazine that included new revelations on Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII, we turn to Tetsuya Nomura who, in a two page interview with the magazine, shared more insight on the mysterious Versus XIII project, and even managed to utter the words "Kingdom Hearts 3."

Nomura: "There's been times when I've wanted to take FF in a completely different direction than the game's producer has wanted. I'm not saying that his or mine opinions have been right or wrong, just different. One thing I've always wanted to explore deeper is human emotions. By going in that direction, you risk to make the target group for the game narrower, and FF is appreciated by a very large audience. But with Versus XIII, it feels like the right time to take that risk. Since the script isn't done yet, I still don't know exactly how far I dare to go, but I know I want to squeeze humanity out of these characters. I want Versus to feel in the entire body."

In EDGE's Final Fantasy special this month, they have interviewed Tetsuya Nomura. It looks alot like the interview with him that we posted earlier, but at least this time we can understand it! He pretty much covers the same points, and pretty much secures the much discussed Playstation 3 exclusivity of Final Fantasy XIII, or thats how I read it anyway. He speaks a lot about how they're doing so many things they haven't be able to do before thanks to the Playstation 3, and the fact that it was chosen because its the most powerful console. Obviously this isn't 100% confirmation but I don't see it being ported if this is their attitude, not that I ever expected to go multi anyway. ;P

Nomura: Everyone is very excited over this so I think we can make something good out of this. Part of our team has been together since the FF7 days but since we've spent such a long time working on KH, a lot of spirit is going into the development of a long-awaited FF for us.

The trailer (which we'll be able to post shortly) begins with a message -- "A fantasy based on reality" -- and for the most part that is correct. A lot of what occurs in this new trailer seems to be grounded a lot in reality, compared to the eccentric and overwhelming beauty of Final Fantasy XIII.
