Do you think FF will ever go back to its roots with turn-based gameplay?

i doubt it, Versus is said to be an Action RPG, so expect something similar maybe Kingdom Hearts or Crisis Core but on a whole new level...

They are not over. They just migrate to handheld platforms.

Personally I'd say Good Riddance and Rest In Peace but I guess many here strongly disagree
It's not perhaps the turn based concept that annoys so much as how it is implemented through the Random Battles and Battle Screens. Find Battle Screens pretty annoying in modern games like Star Ocean IV too even if they are kind of a minor irritate compared to the almost overwhelming list of FAIL Square Enix have let out in that game.
Makes me nervous of what they might cook up for the FFXIII titles.
