re: Multiplayer Discussion

I have found the assault class has some use afterall. Only class I can see that can get the Melee Badge. Body Armor + Boost + Constant R3 pressing = Ribbon.

Best done on Pistol only maps.

What's the reward for getting the melee medal, nothing?

I think its more points per melee kill plus another bad to add to your completion.

re: Multiplayer Discussion

Thinking about it, i think Killzone 2 is far more realistic and maybe easier to play compared to Call of Duty, and in that sense it is superior. Because, okay, let's just say i consider myself to be a good player on Call of Duty. There is still, always games where you will suck. On my day i can be fairly good, say, at least 15 kills and a maximum of 8 deaths for example. That's the average of an every day game for me. But, there's hell of a lot of games where i sucked because of unlucky deaths and whatnot.

But Killzone 2 is far, far more consistent than that, if you're a decent player it will show in nearly every game. No cheap, unlucky deaths with martyrdom, bettys/claymores, or from rubbish spawn points, etc, and there are no lag-related poor records. So far there hasn't been one game i've played in Killzone where i thought "wow i was really bad then" and had a bad record.

Anyone understand what i'm trying to say here? And does anyone agree? It's sort of hard to explain.

re: Multiplayer Discussion

I understand. Basically the score you get is exactly based upon your skills except maybe some lucky headshots and stuff. My aim is always to get 2 kills before I die which requires me to think and play stealthily which adds a whole new level of fun to the game since Killzone 2 maps have many different routes to each location.

Right now I'm going for repair since I love my turrets so much.

re: Multiplayer Discussion

Well, I aim to get 4 kills before I die, because I know my k/d will go to hell when I rush in constantly to plant or defend the bomb.

So i set myself up good and hope its good enough to take the onslaught of kills I'll get when I stop being a camping beeotch

re: Multiplayer Discussion

I never plant the bomb really. I cover the teammate who's planting the bomb, that way I'm not the target and I know where the enemy will come so protecting the 'planter' is easier for me. A K/D ratio of 2.00 is just fine for me but my K/D ratio is *bleep*ed up because of a certain someone who I helped but I won't name him because I love him very very much.

re: Multiplayer Discussion

Meh, I'm not really worried about my K/D ratio. The only game I've ever had a positive one in was Metal Gear Online. I think I may actually just about be in the positive in KZ2 at the moment, but I'm doubtful that'll be the case a year from now.

I'm just glad it doesn't affect your placing on the leaderboard at the end of the game. I have Medal Of Honour: Heroes 2 for PSP, and while the online component is pretty good, I just gave up playing it because your leaderboard position was measured by your K/D ratio.

Normally, I really care about my K/D, always trying to keep it somewhere about 2.5, but so far I don't really care in this game. I'm having more fun just trying to get ribbons and unlock badges.

re: Multiplayer Discussion

I thoroughly enjoy the online multiplayer in Killzone 2 but the more I play, the more it disintegrates into a free for all with both teams throwing spawn grenades close to one-another and creating a mass shoot out that lasts until the round is over.

When I first started playing online it was a more tactical affair between the teams but its mostly just chaos now. Every game I played today became a shambolic shootout with pretty much everyone running round with a shotgun hoping to get a couple of kills before kicking the bucket.

I dunno, maybe it was just a bad day on it but i'm sure its not what Guerrilla Games had in mind when creating the online multiplayer......

re: Multiplayer Discussion

I didnt care to much about k/d at the beginning, but since I have most of the badge ribbons besides the impossible to get boost one and even more impossible to get Sentry bot one, I try to keep a 2.0 or more in games. Been having fun using the default class with the Hig LMG.

re: Multiplayer Discussion

I'm going to sound lame but can anyone tell me what the various symbols represent at the end of each match where you see your score and everyone elses score. I don't know what one is my kills or anything. I figured out Deaths (the skull) and my points but I have no idea what the other ones stand for.

Don't feel bad...I have no idea what they all mean. I just see that my numbers are mostly high so I ain't complaining. Unless high numbers are bad.
