What does it relate to?

I have been reading around on nearly all the threads and I was curious on which game this relates to. I am 100% sure now that I am gonna buy it, but how do the controlls feel and relate to other games? I am a huge cod4 gamer, would it be hard to transition between the two. I don't wanna just waste 60$

It is similar COD. The game kind of reminds me of a fusion between COD, Gears of War and Halo. I call it Gears of Halo Duty!

Really? Thats awesome! Then again FPS don't normally stray to far from the "point and shoot" type of game. Hmm controller wise, are the buttons sort of the same. You know like reload etc...

The one thing I am not too thrilled about is the ducking and sprint controls.

re: What does it relate to?

It feels a lot like Battlefield: Bad Company rather than Call Of Duty. You bob up and down with each footstep, and the sensitivity is a lot heavier.

re: What does it relate to?

Call of Duty does not use traditional console-based FPS controls. Many people consider it 'the new standard', but they'd be wrong as many FPS games still use the original standard. (hat buttons for jump, duck, analog button for sprint/zoom)

Though the original Killzone had the same default layout as KZ2 nearly does, the first game had complete button re-mapping support. KZ2 does not. KZ2 does have a layout though that more closely resembles COD's, if you favor L1 for zooming, etc.

If you haven't played enough conzole based FPS games, COD aside, then you can compare this to the many other FPS games that came out before COD, and afterwards - from Killzone, Cold Winter, Timesplitters, Black, Rainbow Six, Half-Life (ps2), Darkwatch, Pariah, the Bond series, Project Eden, Battlefield 2, the Socom series, and others.

Can you really compare it to socom? I'm pretty sure thats a TPS. Hmm I get what your saying though, I do have a few quick Q's. So obviously your saying it does not really feel like COD, but I should have asked this earlier... is it following the same lines as killzone 1? I played it and I liked the feel for the most part.

re: What does it relate to?

Does anyone else think it feels a bit like Battlefield Bad Company? If you told me it was created by the same makers, i wouldn't be surprised. The sensitivity is practically identical to Battlefield, and it's a similar setup online too with the engineer class, medic class, assault class, etc. Also it just feels like Battlefield in the way in which your player bobs up and down with every footstep. Some of the animations and visuals remind me of Battlefield too. Surprised no one else has mentioned this because i always think it when playing.

Alternate 2 control method in KZ2 gives COD style controls

re: What does it relate to?

The controls feel weighted like Battlefield bad company. It's not high precision like cod4.
