Killzone: Quality FPS or Failure? |

Check out this article. I thought he was going to bash it at first tbh. Glad to see that the game wasn't a victim to the fanboy hype machine. ------------------- Add for Pokemon Platinum and Mario Kart DS!

I've loved the game so far. I mean, there's definitely some things that need to be fixed, particularly with online (games run great, but it's impossible to really party up with people). It would also be nice to be able to do some split screen skirmish or co-op. Otherwise though, it's been fantastic to play so far.

It's all good except for the no coop or splitscreen, and the lack of a party system online.

The only gripe i have is the horrible spawn points. COD has a great spawn point system cuz it places you in areas where its not too far from the action. It's annoying dying in KZ2 and having to spend 45-50 seconds to get back to thwere everyone is.

Or you could choose your own spawn point Jecht44. There is probably atleast one tactician putting out good spawn points on the map. If you don't like them, you could always be a tactician and place points where you'd like to have them.
I think my only beef w/ the game is no co-op. I can live w/o it though so no biggie. ------------------- ![]() 2009: Unleashing The Beast

I was glad when I unlocked the Tactician option earlier. The amount of games I have been in that hasn't had a single Tactician , forcing me and the rest of my team mates to spawn all the way back at base, became very annoying. I always start games as a Tactician now, then place one or two spawn points where (or at least near) the action is normally happening.
But back to the topic in hand. Like people have said, my only problems with the game are having no Co-op whatsoever, and not having a party system online. In all honesty, if they added these two features in, maybe sometime in the near future perhaps, the game would be near perfect. Absolutely loving the game. Definitely glad I bought it now. I wasn't 100% sure at first as I have never played the first game (the PSP version) before, so didnt know if id be able to get into the story all that well. I like to get games that have a good story to it and I usually at least have to play a previous installment of a particular series for me to like any sequels, but I fell in love straight away with Killzone 2. Story is easy to pick up, and isn't so deep and confusing that you have no idea whats happening. This message was edited by Gazza1 on Mar 26 2009. ------------------- ![]()

I can't say that Killzone is a bad game at all, it has high production values, excellent gameplay, sweet graphics and a virtually lagless online system. The things that people have issues with, are largely things that can either be patched, released as DLC, or simply ignored. I don't get many FPS games on consoles, but Killzone 2 was definitely worth the hard-earned.

quote ChozenMasterTBH for me I'm glad this doesn't have co-op because from what I've seen most of the time your so called team mate will go around dying and doing nothing. -------------------

The thing that bugs me is the damn hit lag. If you kill someone, they fall down like a second or two later.

thats my problem with campaign tbh, when there is a new game out i'll be eager to play it but i will always think i gotta play campaign first and then it starts to drag, if they put in onlince campaign it would boost the awesomeness it already has by a mile
