Why can't you get rid of it cause i mean it isn't that great. Other guns are better.

It was just a design decision to keep you with one main weapon and a sidearm. It creates tougher decisions between what weapon you want to keep as your primary, and it's supposedly more realistic, although the unlimited ammo of both pistols somewhat negates the realistic bit.

They just didn't feel like they had to follow the Call of Duty weapon structure, if that's what you're referring to.

It's just a backup say you've used up your clip in the gun you were using in the middle of a gunfight then you can just quickly switch to your sidearm and finish off your opponent.

Exactly. They just didn't want to leave you high and dry in case you blew through all your primary ammo. Plus, you still have your knife for stealth kills, too.

Have you actually stealth killed a Helghan infantry? I usually use it at full running pace and straffe slash my opponent

Yeah but would you want to be in the middle of like 5 or 6 guys with just your pistol cause i mean it takes like 2 or 3 shots to kill them if you don't get a head shot and still then it won't always kill them right away.

Wouldn't bother me, I could merc all of them with a few well placed rounds and then pistol whip them while they're wounded. The magnum is a bit slow due to the recoil but its still a trusty sidearm. It can take 20-30 bullets from a machine gun to drop helghast but 2-3 usually does the trick with the pistol. Which makes it even funnier when Rico says "ooooo head shot ><" Besides there is plenty of ammo kicking around for the primary weapons, you just have to make sure your not left with the 'dead mans click' situation.

Well i still think they should let u get rid of it is u want another wepon. Like when i got the rocket launcher its not fun when u got 3 shots and then u got to find a new gun.

Well go and tell the game designers or something, we can't do anything about it.

Being able to carry two primary weapons would be pretty overpowered in this game, which I'm guessing is why they intentionally didn't let you swap out the pistol.

Meh, I don't really like the shotty in any game. But what you said makes sense for the gameplay even though Helghast take too many bullets to down.

At least, they could have done it in a way that you can swap the pistol with d better pistol or vice versa..
