I'll say that I enjoyed Resident Evil 5 a lot and still play it a ton but it just lacks the epicness of the old games. Zombies and and horror made the games amazing. You're still trying to survive in 4 and 5 but it's all action based at this point and the Las Plagas are the worst enemies(or more like annoying) that I've ever faced in a Resident Evil game. Zombies would give me such a scare back in the day, or even now for that matter. It would get my adrenaline going to run from the crimson heads in REmake , they were fun and gave me the goosebumps. The Manjini do the most annoying attacks, the way they speak is unbearable, and they're all pretty much controlled or they're just like crazy humans. A lot could be said but this was a great game but not great in the Resident Evil universe but I did however enjoy the fact that Chris and Jill came back along with Wesker which made the game much more satisfying. These new games desperately need the atmosphere of the old games. Code Veronica a great example, a great plot, one of the best and intense scores imaginable, a wide variety of great enemies that scared the crap out of me, the destination fit it perfectly, and the bosses were incredible. Boss fights don't get any more intense than the last form of Alexia, I mean her battle needed the most powerful weapon in the whole series to finish her off and when she was all done for you get another battle between Chris and Wesker and game over. All games pre-RE4 left you satisfied in the end but after that you were left with all these voids, it's like where did Capcom's genius go?

the above valid criticisms aside, my biggest gripe was how awkward initiating co-op was. for a game that's so obviously set up for co-op, starting it up is very... inelegant? you should be able to start local co-op from the menus, if you have two profiles signed in. as it is, you have to start the single player, go through the loading and the item management, wait for the autosave, hit start on the second controller, go through more loading and item management. you should really be able to skip the first few steps.
other than that, co-op is great. i like how it saves items and treasures to both profiles separately, and duplicates all the found items (BSAA emblems and treasures). there are a lot of co-op games out there that just don't do that. so while it's a pain to start up, it more than makes up for it in other conveniences.

On that above note - i wish you could name your sessions....so you could let people know about it - stuff like writing 'first time' or 'shotgun only' or 'speed run' ya know, so people don't get annoyed and don't misunderstand each other.

No more zombies. If you bring them back, make them tougher enemies that actually have some level of intelligence. If they're the old kind, then no. They are far overrated.
Tougher bosses. Don't make us use special weapons for nearly all of them. Plain old shooting and having strategic tactics involved would be good. ------------------- ![]() quote Veggi

quote SephClone89In my opinion, the boss fights needed to be harder. Like, the first and only El Gigante guy was fought using a Minigun, rather than like in RE4 where you had to fight each one yourself, plus, boss fights that could've been so much longer and more epic like the U-8 battle were over with fast. ------------------- PSN: SuperKrauser Games: Resident Evil 5 (Still Playing), LittleBigPlanet, Fallout 3 (Still Playing), Bioshock

I think what was really missing was the horror. When I first downloaded the demo I was scared because I thought it was going to be like the old RE games. Boy was I in for a shock.
When my brother bought the game, the only part that had any suspense to it at all was when one partner had to hold a lantern while the other person shot the "zombies" when in the dark caves, and even that was extremely mild, especially since it only lasted around 5 minutes.
