Online multiplayer?

The main problem that CC had was that the game was simply very boring when you played by yourself. But once you went through the hassle of finding three more friends with GBAs AND the GBA to GC connectors, the game was quite fun with friends, though pretty crazy. I really hope this one has online multiplayer - it'll make the game MUCH more fun, and I'll actually bother to finish it. CC bored me so much I never beat it. Anyone here want online multiplayer too? Or do you find CC fun enough by yourself?

I had the same problem. Playing alone was boring and repetitive, so I stopped playing half way. I can't wait for this version though.

re: Online multiplayer?

The best thing that could happen would be for it to be a massively multiplayer online game.

But that is VERY unlikely.

re: Online multiplayer?

^ Certainly would.

I heard new info was meant to be revealed at the Jump Festa 2007. Now that that's passed, does anyone know any further details?

Nintendo would be stupid not to make this multiplayer. They've made too many mistakes as it is. Step your game up nintendo!

re: Online multiplayer?

Nintendo isn't making this game, Square Enix is.

Anyway, I wouldn't count on online multiplayer. Crystal Bearers focuses on single-player this time. There doesn't appear to be any party system so far, so there probably isn't any multiplayer, online or offline. If it were a multiplayer-focused game like the original Crystal Chronicles, then online play would have been much more important.

I thought that nintendo deals with the online capabilities

re: Online multiplayer?

No, not in this sense. They don't order a developer to use it, nor do they refuse to let a developer use it. They simply provide the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service (which is optional. EA uses EA Nation instead of WFC, because it is less restrictive). Whether or not a third-party game is online has nothing to do with Nintendo. It's Square Enix who is responsible for the game and features such as online, not Nintendo.

re: Online multiplayer?

To be honest, I don't think it will have online multiplayer. If they truly are concentrating on single play and story, then online multiplayer seems like a long shot.

Local Multiplayer is possible though.

re: Online multiplayer?

It would make the game a lot better.

But yeah I agree Friend Code Multiplayer with just the 4 friends is most likely (and livable, that is what we have Neo for ).
