Zant and Ganondorf, anyone?

I really don't care how "revolutionized" the controls are or whatever, but I want a game that's going to have a more complex plot. Midna was really the only character that went through a drastic character change, so I would like to see more character developement.

When your dying you start panting and leaning forward, you know more realistic pain. Meeting a few bosses before fighting them ex. Fighting Gannon before the end of the game then he knocks you out and rides away. Being able to fight bosses again, when you get killed you don't slump over and you just see a transparent red on the screen and fall over.

You pretty much just described Majora's mask. In just about all the 3D Zelda games, when link has low health (the beeping noise) he leans over and gasps for breath. He meets the Skull Kid a few times before finally battling him, in fact he's the first character Link meets. Because of the ability to go back in time, you can fight the bosses as often as you want, you can even warp straight to the boss room.

I hope the next game is as innovative as MM but not a copy obviously. Also a less irritating noise when you have low health would be nice.

Second that. I KNOW when I'm low on health. I'm half-surprised they didn't introduced a Navi-esque character that persisted in telling you.

"Hey! You're almost dead! Find some health!"

No, do you think?

Yeah, I'm expecting another Zelda form of Captain Obvious some time soon.

I've just been thinking, since this game is planned to be released so soon after Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass, does any one else question the quality of the storyline? eg. Remember Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask? There was what, 2 years between the two? Ocarina of Time did so well that it's been named 'Best Game of All Time' by several critics. Majora's Mask didn't do so well. Don't get me wrong, they're both AWESOME games, but should we be expecting something similar to this with Twilight Princess and Zelda 2008?

A valid point. I expect that the next Wii release will be similar to TP, yes, but I imagine that this will be in the same way that MM was similar to Oot. Engine very similar, characters very similar, storyline.. not so similar. Which, personally, suits me fine, because I question how much more they could improve TP's graphics, etc. Needless to say it probably won't have the 'WOW' factor that TP had, but only because now we know what to expect. That won't necessarily mean that the game will be any worse.

I hope

re: Speculation for Zelda Wii 2008 #2

It happened to Metroid Prime 2, it happened to Majora's Mask it'll probally happen to this game too, the prequel (OOT, MP1, ect) is incredibly good, astonishing even and is a game of the year sort of game. The sequel is expect to be 10x better and be impossibly good, but it won't be, it'll be incredible but not as good as it was hyped to be killing it off. It happened to a lot of games. Hopefully this next game will be a vast improvment on TP and live up to the hype it will recieve.

1. Change the control system. We have already had an announcment from the creators that they have been toying with some new control ideas, which backs up my idea of them improving the controls. For a launch release TP had awesome controls but now it's time for a vast improvment, like with Metroid Prime 3 did to the FPS controls for the Wii.

2. Allow for difficulty changes. Then it would accomadate for new players who need to get used to controls and vets who want a much better challenge.

3. Add some bonus stuff. Such as galleries, sound tracks, ect unlockable after beatign the game by gaining perhaps vouchers or something throughout the game and with these "vouchers" you could unlock stuff.

Meh. I didn't have any problems with it, except looking like a dingus. Plus I'm still waiting for MP3. I seriously doubt that they will change anything, purely and simply because they don't have to in order for us to go out and buy it.

Pretty lame to quote myself, I know. I just didn't feel like typing it again.

Next Zelda Wii game... Vaatii. He could be like, crazy. Basically like an overpowered Zant. Vaatii in Minish Cap was the hardest boss ever. It took me months to beat him, and I had to get help from youtube to do so,

Plus, I wonder what a 3D vaatii would look like instead of 2D. A lot more scarier than Ganon for sure.

Next Zelda game= 2010 or 2011

re: Speculation for Zelda Wii 2008 #2

The graphics for TP weren't the best the Wii can put out. Remember, it was also a GCN game. The Wii can do better. I'm interested in how much better.

MP3 was a fantastic game, get it right now.

I wouldn't mind keeping the current controls, but if they can come up with a better setup, fine. I'm open. I really don't think that they'll change the controls for the worse just to change them.

I would like to see differing difficulties, but the only way I can see it done is making enemies easier to take down. For example, only needing to exploit the boss's weakness twice instead of three times for a kill, needing less hits on normal enemies. Perhaps there could be a little bit of auto-aim thrown in (bow, boomerang) for easy mode as well.

Unlockables/extras I'm on the fence about. The only things I'd really be interested in doing the work to unlock would be music (that loops, preferably) and concept art. I don't want to unlock "Play as Dark Link!" or anything stupid like that.
