Controls

I've been wondering about the controls lately. Ubisoft is doing their best to perfect them as I type, but what about the camera angle?

re: Controls

Well it is FPS, so the only camera angle you will see is the view point of your eyes. So that won't be a problem.

re: Controls

I'm talking about turning and everything. Will it be like other FPSs? Since we don't have a analog stick on the Wiimote or a C-Stick it could be a problem.

Use the analog stick on the nunchuck to move, move the controller to aim....

re: Controls

I heard that once the Wiimote is pointed toward the edge of the screen for about a minute it will shoot back towards the center of the screen. Hopefully what I heard was false.

re: Controls

So how exactly would you aim off the screen?

re: Controls

I agree with guticb. You will probably move with the control stick and look with the Wii-mote. To me, it seems the most logical.

re: Controls

That is what happens. You can aim on the screen but your view won't change. If you get close enough to the edge of the screen, your camera will change with it. Kinda like an invisible box in the screen. Aim in it, and your camera won't move. Aim out, and change your view.

re: Controls

dang. they should make it so you move your view with the analog peripheral, and then aim your gun with the wiimote. that makes way more sense.

re: Controls

Sorry, guticb, I meant when you pointed the Wiimote to the side of the screen or something like that. The camera angle is the only part of the controls I'm worried about.

re: Controls

Tainted just gave me this idea.

Thinking about it, I can't see the controls much different then the controls of a PC. You point your gun and shoot with your right hand and steer your guy with the left. Using this method, you have way more control over you guy then any hand held which uses sensativity on the analong stick.

If this is true, then this really is going to be the ultimate control system.

re: Controls

and isn't that the point of the wii? a functional and innovative way to play games? so i think they have to make it more interactive than:
move wiimote to the left.
when it reaches edge of screen, camera moves left.

wouldn't that just be awful?

re: Controls

I think the PC set up would be the best, but it's going to be that invisible box method I said before. Unless that is one of the parts that they had changed after E3. I doubt it, but it could happen.

If you use the control stick on the nunchuck efficiently along with the Wiimote, you can get past the invisible box thing. We just have to wait and see.
