re: Controls |

Ubisoft have said that whilst this game will be quite realistic (especially in terms of setting), it will have a unique style to it that seperates it from reality.

quote AlkalineEg: You don't die when you get shot once. There are "red/orangey streaks" instead of blood. A magical crosshair can be seen as you walk around. You cant go everywhere in this game because magic things won't let you. I pretty much got it didn't I? This isn't a shot at you in any way Alkaline but I see nothing that's really uniqee about its shift from reality. -------------------

The cross hair is in most games. I think you'll be able to turn it off. Which I hope to do.
It doesn't matter how realistic/unrealistic this game has to be to be great. ------------------- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Yeh I know I was just wondering what Alkaline is referring to when he speaks of when he refers to the unique style that seperates it from reality.

No, I'm referring to the actual setting design.
Unlike real-life, some colours are intentionally muted to convey meaning. In Red Steel you'll notice bright colours conflicting with dull greys. It's a nice, unique style. ------------------- ![]()

Well it certainly captures a unique style, which should benefit the game and the overall experience.

So, what sensitivity of controls do you think you will use? I think i will have to start with a low sensitivity until i control the wiimote more precisely, and then go with the more loose controls. Agreed?

I'm curious, though. I know for web design there are only about 250 colors that look identicle on all different computers. I wonder if this is the same for TV's. Although, I can't see how it would matter anyway.

quote TaintedI feel the same way. I want decent sensitivity upon playing, but not the pixel-perfect control. Once I get better and better at the game, I'll gradually increase the sensitivity. ------------------- ![]()

Well, i was going to put this in the GD, but then i saw this thread, so i thought i'd put it here. What do you think they will allow people to do control wise at the TGS? Do you think they will only have the gun levels, or a little gun, a little sword, or what?

re: Controls |

Well, it's a demo but it's in its final form pretty much. I'd expect two gun levels and a sword level or something of the such. But our predictions could be way off.

quote TaintedNintendo won't be at TGS. Nintendo is having their own event on Thursday, September 14. Many games will be playable in their final forms including Red Steel. -------------------

Confirmed controls!!!! |

The nunchuck will be given slight motion control. So here they are, I couldnt agree on a more perfect set of controls.
Sorry but no reload button has been confirmed. GUN AND FREE ROAMING------------------- Nunchuck shake: open doors Nunchuck trigger: crouch Nunchuck analog: Move forwards/backwards/strafe Wiimote A button: Shoot Wiimote (_) button: Reload Wiimote D-pad: Change weapons Wiimote move: Aim/pan camera SWORD DUELING-------------------------- Nunchuck movement: Small defensive blade Nunchuck analog: Dodge Wiimote movement: Large offensive blade Once an enemy is defeated in sword fighting, he will be about on his knees; you will then have the oppertunity to finish them off, or spare them and possibly make a vital ally. I got this off of a forum I found on google, somebody said it was from Ubisoft themselves. Sorry but I dont have a link to it. ------------------- London is drowning-and I live by the river
