How do you save this game? do you have to wait untill a specific moment to save or can you do it by menu?

Once you complete a section of the game, it automatically saves.

When it says "Checkpoint Reached", then it saves.

Yep, when you see "Checkpoint Reached" and the game freezes it saves.
