Red Steel - Controls. |
|
Hey guys, i've just recently bought my Wii for christmas, the whore won't let me play ¬__¬ (Mother)
Anyway, i bought this game, i couldn't care less about the reviews etc, this game seems to be a great FPS. Anyway, although reading the review i've come across "Sloppy turning" what in tap dancing christ does that mean? Do you have to swing your controller to the left or the right to turn? or is it a matter of pointing the wii-mote at the end of each side of the screen? Answers would be appriecated; apart from Zebra's XD

yeah, actually you do have to point the remote at each side of the screen to turn. I would say i'd have to agree with this, the turning is still kinda sloppy. but still a great game

Yeah it is sloppy, but I don't see any other way of doing it. You could alter the game so that the crosshairs are always in the middle, but that would defeat the point of the Wiimote IMO.

Well, not really. The Wiimote still has the ability to jab in. Anyways, I'm hearing that Far Cry Vengeance's controls are similar to Red Steel's but improve upon it in some ways. First off, the bounding box is smaller for faster turning. Then you can hold the A button, and when that is done, the screen locks. You can still strafe and move, but you can't turn anymore. You have the entire screen to aim and won't need to worry about turning. You can still zoom in by pushing the Wiimote forward, as well. However, it is a good deal of improvement, even if it isn't that big of one, that would be a nice addition to Red Steel 2, or Fighting Steel, or whatever it will be called.
I haven't tried RS yet (but I will rent it over Christmas break and at least try it out) so I can't comment, but they don't sound that bad. Could be better, but not as horrible as people who haven't played it make it out to be.

Sure its a bit of a pain, but don't let it put you off the game, because its a pretty solid game overall.

There's an invisible box on your screen. When your pointer goes out of the boundries of that invisable box, the screen turns in that direction. The analog stick on the nunchuck moves you in the direction that you tilt it in. Overall, I liked the turning...
