I think this game is subjected to the harshest criticism due to the hype and the numerous accolades and showers of praise it has received - sort of like a backlash to the reviews of a great game. I am really enjoying this game right now, I waited a little while to pick it up, got it about a week ago, and I think its a whole lot of fun.

I often tell my friends who don't have it yet that most of the little aspects of the game are good enough to be their own game - pool and bowling, for example, have significantly impeded my progress through the story because they are so fun. The driving, the shooting, every aspect, I have thorougly enjoyed. Don't label me a fanboy, I've never been a GTA addict, I played some of the first 3, and completed VC, but thats about it. I think this game is absolutely worth buying.

It also seems to get a lot because of how many changes it made to the way GTA was before. Personally, I think it's better, but I can understand that some people might be mad because I've gotten irritated about a series changing before (Resident Evil, Ratchet & Clank, etc.).

You sound a lot like me on the opposite side of the debate, Blind Sniper. It is refreshing to actually receive understanding and even sympathy from someone who absolutely loves almost everything about GTA IV. lol Most of the GTA IV fans would like the rest of us GTA fans to just shut up and "stop our whining". It is nice to see you understand our point of view.

I try my best to see both sides of each coin, but of course there does come a time when I have to choose a side to stand on.

Totally was a waste of 60bucks. Not so bad when I traded it in for almost 40bucks but still. Game is a major upgrade for a gta game yes, but with all the flaws and some major letdowns, I feel as though my money was wasted. :/
