Me personally, I chose to do the Revenge mission strand.

I hated Dimitiri, he was always calling Niko and threatening his life. Then with Pegorino, the guy was a mobster but screw him. I mean his family is dysfunctional and he didn't care about anyone but himself. Look at how he talked to his heavies that time during the meeting with the Pavanos. He didn't even care they died for his safety.

Plus most people don't even see the Pegorino's as a family.

Ray was already dead, so the Pegorino family is pretty much Jimmy and Phil Bell. Phil was the only one who had a brain.

I think even if the deal had gone through, I don't think the Dimitri/Pegorino alliance would have lasted long. Phil said he didn't trust Dimitri either. Jimmy was just getting desperate and was going to drastic measures to make it on the commission.

I saved the game, then done Revenge and then a few days I tried seeing what Deal was like.
I preferred Revenge.

I chose revenge on my first playthrough and deal on my second one.

On my first (true) play through I went for revenge.

It thought it was stupid at the end if you chose revenge you still got the money . . .
