"The Godfather" of the GTA series.(spoilers) |
|
This games story is brilliant. I like it because it covered so many different aspects and characters. Unlike its predecessors, this game has a dark story and shows bad things happening to everyone. It also shows some inner turmoil within families (I.e: Francis and Derrick).
I liked how the story showed that sometimes revenge isn't always best. Hence, after Niko killed Darko. Killing him didn't make him feel better like he had expected. They also followed up on characters from previous missions (Ie: The Korean that you and Derrick helped out). It turns out, you end up killing the Korean after sneaking him in. When you think it about, nobody really had a happy ending. The graphics made it all seem so real too. I think this game is "The Godfather" of the GTA series. I wonder how many writers it took to write the story and make the characters? This message was edited by Wiseguy9890 on Jul 01 2009.

A LOT of writers. I have to disagree with you on one thing though. Roman and Melanie have a happy ending because they get married and will have a child(Kate gets pregnant). But I agree that this game's storyline is absolutely brilliant and the work of a genius.

Oh yea, that's right about Roman and Melanie. But that's only true if you picked the "revenge" route.
I bet it did take a lot of writers. There's no way one writer could have composed such a brilliant story. It has to be the work of many. I really liked this game because I think I learned some things from it too. I really like movies and my dream is to become a director. Maybe if I become a director someday, I can borrow some ideas from this game.

Sure you could, then get ready to get sued.

You only get sued if you use characters, locations or events that are exactly the same as the reference work.
People can use similar concepts and ideas as long as they use their creativity and make it their own.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the story and especially the fact that neither ending is really a "good" ending.
