Return to the colorful wilds of Yoshi's Island in a new platforming adventure for Nintendo DS.

A mysterious floating island has suddenly appeared over peaceful Yoshi's Island. Soon after its arrival, a gaggle of kids vanishes from the island school. Thankfully, Baby Mario, Baby Peach and Baby Donkey Kong manage to avoid being kidnapped. Now, Yoshi and the three young superstars must set out on a wild and colorful quest to rescue the kids and investigate the ominous island hovering overhead. Thanks to the power of Nintendo DS, all of the lush vistas and perilous paths of Yoshi's Island span two screens.

Hot on the heels of New Super Mario Bros., Nintendo has unveiled the follow-up to another side-scrolling masterpiece starring everyone's favortie plumber. When it rains, it pours, eh? Yoshi's Island 2 reunites Baby Mario with his trusty prehistoric steed on a quest to rescue the toddler's kidnapped classmates. Also along for the ride this time are Baby Peach and Baby Donkey Kong. While clinging to Yoshi's back, each of the infants gives you access to unique abilities; Donkey Kong can swing from vines, and Peach can open her parasol to float through the sky like Mary Poppins (if Mary Poppins rode a voracious green dinosaur). The game's visual style retains the colorful storybook charm of it's predecessor, and expanding the view across both screens opens up all kinds of new gameplay possibilities. The release date for Yoshi's Island 2 has not benn announced, but rest assured that we'll be keeping a close eye on this one.
