Tips (in general):

• Don't get seen (obvious, I know, but it's likely you're going to be killed otherwise with that amount of life)

• Find either Body armour, shield or stealth to help you. (if/when available)

• To begin with (before amassing a decent army and a decent understanding) rag ANYONE in to the truck, this not only clears the area for easier searching for items, but also adds to the chances of you getting a soldier with skills/health you can work with.

Note: at one point I had a soldier with decent health & stamina (200+hp, 600 stamina) taking soldiers out, then swapping to a soldier with something daft like 48hp BUT could drag soldiers to the truck faster.

• use medi-kits & Rations to top up life/stamina (when absolutely NEEDED...like in your currently described case lol)

• There is an option (I forget what it's called as it's been a while since I played this game) on the menu before you go on a mission what puts the game time forwards but tops up your life & stamina a bit. If I remember correctly, if you use this too much (barely at all lol) you won't get one of the secret characters (Cunningham?) but if absolutely necessary...
