I did not for the life of me understand the story... |
|
anyone care to narrate the storyline of the game? I finished it and seriously did not get this story =S..
the only parts i understood were: > Andrew Ryan built Rapture. He made all the splicers/plasmids stuff questions that i have include > Why would Ryan want to create crazy killers? > Why would he want to create weapons (plasmids) so that the citizens can use them against each other and wreck havoc? > Who/What was Fontaine? > Why/How did the guy/me end up in Rapture? Yes the ship wreck but was he brought to Rapture by Atlas or did he just stumble upon it? > What was Atlas's problem? > What was Ryan's problem? > What was Fontaine's problem? > Why were the Little Sisters the way they were, all weird and hanging out with Big Daddies even though Tenenbaum took care of them? > Wtf happened after Atlas died, the whole ending sequence with Tenenbaum narrating? basically i really didn't get a bit of this story lol. if someone would kindly explain it to me, i would finally be at peace

quote saadk0711Andrew Ryan didn't make the Splicers exactly, the splicers are people who went crazy from overuse of plasmids and gene tonics. They went crazy, and have scattered memories of their past lives, and attack unfamilier people. Andrew Ryan didn't make them intentionally for war weapons or anything, he made them for a convience to everyday life. You don't need a lighter for a ciggarette if you can flick your finger and have fire come out? Fontaine, he created Fontaine Futuristics (seen in Bioshock 2 only so far) and that is where the little girls are made into little sisters. He was a bright scientist who soon climbed so high on Rapture's totem pole, that he began to try to take it out of Ryan's hands. It was in 1958, when he was supposedly killed... But he was really Atlas. The man who guided you through half the game. Nobody knew who Atlas was exactly so he hid that way. It was a plane wreck. If you noticed on the box that he has in the beggining, it has a note that says "Would you kindly not open until..." and then there were coordinates. It was a set-up. Inside was a gun. He was controlled by the phrase "would you kindly" (hopefully you knew about how the phrase when said with the correct mind control psychological changes, the person would have to obey what followed) forcing him to crash the plane at the coordinates, using the gun inside. It was then he saw the lighthouse nearby, and it was more than likely that the note also included going down the elevator, etc. Atlas is Fontaine, so that eliminates one question. So, he wanted to kill Ryan. Ryan was the only thing stopping him from controlling Rapture. Ryan was, well... he... you were his illegitimate son. The woman he mentions is your mother. The pictures of your "family" really isn't your family. So... in the end where he keeps taunting you with "A man chooses, a slave obeys" he was trying to teach you a lesson about not being a slave towards Fontaine/Atlas. Once changed, their looks appear to not be reversable. The lok and process is irreversable. And, only the ones she didn't take care of hang out with the big daddies. The only reason they help you when you take form of one is because they know that you are gonna kill Atlas/Fontaine. Well, it dempends on the endings you got: Ending 1: If you decide to save every single little sister that you kill thier big daddy, or atleast interact with, you will get an ending that is happy, people don't get killed. She says something about them "offering you the key to the city" but you declining. It then shows one getting married (ring going on finger) and then laying in a hospital dying with caring people with her (once again only showing hands) Ending 2: If you decide to harvest every little sisster. It is identical to endint 3 visually, but if you listen, ending 2 sounds angry. It talks about you showing now mercy towards them. Ending 3: If you decide to harvest, and save some. The same as ending 2, only with the sad tone. hope that helps. ------------------- PSN: SuperKrauser Games: Resident Evil 5 (Still Playing), LittleBigPlanet, Fallout 3 (Still Playing), Bioshock
