KOEI Delays US Releases
Fatal Inertia, Bladestorm rescheduled for summer.

January 18, 2007 - Following yesterday's announcement that Fatal Inertia would be pushed back from March to an undisclosed release date in Japan, the American leg of KOEI confirmed with IGN that the North America edition would see a postponement as well. In fact, KOEI told us today that both Fatal Inertia and Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War are being held back until the summer (which matches both titles' newly-announced UK release schedule). A specific month wasn't given.

"Both titles are taking advantage of new game engines and hardware," said KOEI Senior Vice-President, Amos Ip. "We are allowing our development teams additional time to further explore the capabilities and potential of each system by extending the product launches for a simultaneous platform release this summer."

The summertime delay applies to both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the games.



For the unfamiliar, Fatal Inertia is a KOEI Canada-developed racer set more than a hundred years in the future. It incorporates multiple physics-based weapon types, customizable vehicles, and a number of gameplay modes. Bladestorm is currently being designed by Omega Force and is a real-time strategy game aimed at retelling the 14th century conflict between England and France.
