I'm afraid little to nothing is known about this game yet. It's unbelievable in a way what with it being a launch title and all. I'm sure we'll find out in September.

Yeah, there were only a few screens and a short video for this one at E3.

We haven't even seen the full video yet. The descriptions depict a boy running through a forest at first before slashing up a Golem on a TV screen. I want to see it as he's probably the main character.

That's quite reasurring I suppose although Excite Truck was playable at E3. Oh well, I'm sure all will be answered in September. Then this thread will really come to life.

Nintendo Rumours | Dragon Quest IX on Wii! Plus other square enix news...

"Okay, so you should always take rumours with a plentiful supply of salt pinches, but when they come from publications such as Japan's Famitsu or the US magazine EGM, then people tend to pay more attention. Anyway, enough chatter...here are the rumours this month:


Square Enix is currently creating an MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) game based on the Mana series for Nintendo's Wii;


If sales of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (Nintendo DS) and Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors (Wii) get good sales, then the company will bring Dragon Quest IX to the Wii!"

I like the sound of an on-rails sword slashing game. I can see Swords being a mix of Star Fox 64 and, er... Dragon Quest. Should be good fun.

While I think turn-based fights can be really engrossing/addictive, sometimes you just want to lash out at those pesky Slimes yourself.
