Yeah this game was great. How come this game never took off? Its just as cool as Devil May Cry.

I actually like this game a lot more than Devil May Cry. There are a lot more techniques you can use, and it has more humor in it, as well. Plus, I like the music better, and the characters are more interesting. And, it's just plain fun.
So why did God Hand never take off? Well, for one: have you ever seen even one commercial for it? Me, neither. It ran a few ads in gaming magazines, but the general public has no idea what it is, or what it's about. Second, the graphics are nothing special. There are a lot of people out there who don't care about gameplay, sadly, and would rather play something with great graphics than this. Finally, I suspect that some gamers mistook this for a simple button masher, never fully getting into the intricacies of customization. In a world full of Halo 3's and GTA's, God Hand was ignored by most people. It still has a cult following, though, which I'm happy about.

Im glad too.
People wont shut up about viewtaful joe or okami and this gets no love. No justice. Even critics hated this game (mostly). -------------------

I've heard mixed reviews from the critics. You're right, some seem to hate it, and I really don't understand why. It seems they played the game for about two seconds before giving it it's rating. But on the other hand, PSM, the magazine who's reviews I used to trust the most, gave it an 8 out of 10, if I recall correctly. And even X-Play, who I rarely agree with, gave God Hand a 4 out of 5, which is very good. So, at least there's a little justice in the world.

quote KudzukaI personally found that bullshit, but that might be because critics gave way too much of a shit for graphics and "innovation". I *bleep*ing love God Hand, despite the medium score I gave it (it was technically alright, but I *bleep*ing enjoyed it personally). And to whoever said people would rather graphics > gameplay, you're right. Too many kiddies playing half-broken games like Sonic The Disaster and Final Fantasy 12 just because they have good graphics. God Hand shits over them two. ------------------- ![]() REIGN IN PAIN MOTHER*bleep*ERS!

Hell yeah this was one of the coolest most innovative action games lately. I love the combo creating engine and its crazy old fashion game type feel

I'm the one who said that most people prefer graphics over gameplay, and unfortunately, it happens all the time. I think a lot of it has to do with kids who didn't grow up playing the old classics, which had terrible graphics but great gameplay.
As graphics engines kept getting more and more impressive, developers kept trying to outdo each other, not where it mattered, but instead with how the game looked. The result are those disasters like the newer Sonic games. And that's all kids today know. I'd say that, for people born, say, after 1990, 90% of them don't appreciate quality gameplay. However, all of us posting on this thread and forum are proof that no matter how unpopular, a quality game like Godhand will always have it's fans.

Then you're in the minority, my young friend. But, it shows you have good taste in games despite your age. If only more young people, and people in general, would pick something like God Hand over something like Halo 3, the gaming world would be a better place.
