Baldur's Gate Mod Library |
|
One of the major additions of playing Baldur's Gate II is the sheer amount of mods out there, that are both impressive and useful. I've seen a few come out through the years, although mostly before I got the game.
I have not modded myself, but a lot of these add new depth to the game. With a little bit of selfishness, I thought we should compile references to some of the best made and most used mods out there! ![]() The Ease-Of-Use mod is collection of useful modlets and minor changes that make playing BGII more bearable. Many of them were not written by me: I am merely packaging them up here. This mod pack works for BG2 (SoA and or ToB) only. If you are looking for something for BG1, try here instead. Note: Some people regard many of these changes (especially those that change game rules like grand-mastery or level tables) as cheats. All of the components are optional and may be installed separately. Use your own discretion. When you run the install utility you will be prompted to confirm the installation of each feature individually. For more information, click here! Official page. ---- ![]() The Item Upgrade mod allows Cromwell and Cespenar to upgrade additional items in BGII. One third of them are convenience functions (e.g., they save you ring or boot space), one third of them try to beef up categories of weapons that are "weak by comparison" (e.g., clubs and spears), and one third of them upgrade NPC-specific items. For a lot more information about this mod, click here! ---- The Tactics Mod ![]() ![]() The Tactics Mod Pack adds quite a few optional components to BGII. They all aim to make the game more challenging and rewarding by increasing the difficult (and thus the thought required) of encounters. Many of these components have been drawn from different mod authors; I did not write everything here. In particular, Gebhard Blucher, Kensai Ryu, Xyx and Ishan have made contributions. The Tactics Mod adds quite a few new components to BGII. All of the components are individually optional: you may install some but not others, your choice. Contents: To view the massive amount of content, click here! ---- ![]() "Maybe we can get Westley to put some warning signs for the faint of heart on his posts when he is advertising mods this extreme? I'm certain some poor gamers fainted on their keyboards." -- Mike Hall The Spell-50 mod extends a number of priest, druid and mage spell effects to level fifty. Spells cast by friends and enemies alike are modified. Basically, it's a mod for players who would like to see phenominal cosmic spellcasting at higher levels. Contents: * A number of spells within the game have their effects (damage, duration, etc.) linearly extended to 50th level. Blatant Warning: This mod will change the balance of power in the game in favor of spellcasters. Both your high-level spellcasters and opposing high-level spellcasters (e.g., liches, ToB enemies) will gain a major boost. You should seriously consider whether you want to face a 25d8 Horrid Wilting and whether you will have fun in a game where you can launch a 25d8 Horrid Wilting before you install this.
