Reputable European publication Edge magazine is reporting that the upcoming Animal Crossing for Nintendo Wii is indeed going the MMO route, as previously rumored by fellow Future Publishing siblings Next-Gen. "A Japanese source has confirmed to Edge that the upcoming Wii iteration of Animal Crossing is set to be a social networking MMO," reports the magazine.

No other details are known at the time, Nintendo has not provided any official confirmation. The article is found on page nine of the latest issue, which prominently features the PlayStation 3 on both the front and back covers.

This is the article I know its a slim chance but still Nintendo hasnt said anything about being MMO meaning they still can change their minds and make it free I know its a slim chance but ya gotta have faith right?

well i dont like the idea of mmo becouse tyhen people will have diffrent ideas towards the town then it will be jumbbled like tree stumps left behind no trees fruits and garbage every where people crowding up the rivers and then they will terorize the animals!

I don't think a separate disc or channel would be necessary, just another train or big gate or something that takes you to the MMO area. And then you could chat and trade and brings friends back without friendcodes. Like that's going to happen...

I 100% agree with you, I would seriously hate this game if it turns to be a MMO, that would suck so much, they should just keep it original, you have your own house and crap but they should make different files have different houses, i didn't like that idea with WW.
