Fish, One hit wonders???

You all must know about when fishing you get so many fish that no matter how fast you are, you will never catch them, as they hit the float & they are gone ( FAST ). Well over the last week I have been getting this happen more & more often, today alone in just one hour on the game I had it happen twice. Yesterday was pure stupid, in a two hour session I had it happen 4 times & later on in the day 3 more times. Does anyone know how often this should happen or can happen as its now driving me crazy. I have lost sharks, a Celeocanth, Dorado's, Snakeheads & lots of other fish. You do not mind it happening when its small low value fish or even say the size of a snapper or squid, that kind of thing. But when its biggies like sharks ( OK some may have been a Sunfish, but all the same ) it then starts to get very very annoying indeed. AAAAARRRRHHHHHHHH!

The trick is, is that you need to be prepared. You can't sit there lallygagging thinking that they might bite more than once. When they charge for your bobber, you have to have your brain in focus.

Also, I didn't know fish could release a world-wide musical hit and then never be heard from again.

I find that removing one of your senses from it makes things easier. When I'm fishing I usually close my eyes and wait until I hear the bobber go under because sometimes your sights and hearing can get mixed up and make things harder.

re: Fish, One hit wonders???

Thanks all for your comments, I do not sit there as has been said lallygagging at all & as I am fishing I rely on my hearing & not sight. If a fish is there I cast to the fish & when they lock on I look away & listen for the plop it is then I press A & do not watch them go for the float at all.

Man, I hate when there's a really big shadow in the water and you go for it, only to miss it because it took the bait on the very first bite. I always sit there wondering what it could've been (probably a Sea Bass, but meh).

I usually expect that every time the fish takes a nip at the bobber, it won't catch. Because if I do, my reflexes will develop a mind of their own and lose that fish for sure.

I know, I do that a lot. My thumb starts twitching, and then it hits A under its own control. I've lost Gars because of that.

That happens to me too sometimes. It means that your reflexes are good but just need a slight bit of control.

I do that when i know there's a good/rare fish. It's because i worry about not pressing A fast enough.

re: Fish, One hit wonders???

That is why for some time now the only time I look is when I cast the line & to see if its in the right place & they see it, after than I do not look at it & just wait to hear the PLOP. I used to get so uptight waiting for them to strike & as they back away then it seems to take them ages before they strike the float again. So I got to the point that I thought oh boy my heart can not take this at all, te he he. So I now & have done for a long time now, I just look away & just use what I can hear.

That happens to me to Clo. XD

I saw an eel yesterday (the shadow I mean) and I thought it was about to take its 5th and last bite, but I miscounted and it was only its fourth and I pulled the bobber out to soon. ):

It is incredibly annoying, but I suppose it can't be helped.

Just try keeping your thumb a good ways away from the A button at all times.

Oh, i keep the rumble on the wiimote on too. It seems to help when it gives you a tiny jolt when the float goes under to immediately press A.

That's exactly what sets off my annoying reflexes in the first place.

But I can live with it.
