You have a 1 in 8,292 chance of getting a shiny pokemon. And that doesnt mean if you go through 8,291 pokemon your next one will be shiny. Everytime you'll have a 1 in 8,292 chance. And if you find a shiny pokemon and try to breed it you still have a 1 in 8,292 chance of it hatching into a shiny.

If you breed a Ditto with a shiny pokemon i think you get a shiny pokemon from the egg(if it is wrong dont blame me my friend told me it).

Actually the chance is 8192... Breeding shiny with ditto won't work but the truth is that the baby will have better chance of being shiny than 8192 if 1 or 2 parents are shiny.
