I'm turning 18 soon and still love Pokemon games, what is kiddie-ish about an rpg where you level up and evolve monsters instead of your conventional "heros" eh? ------------------- ![]()

I'm 13. And yet I still like pokemon. In my opinion, if people like those around 13 to 21 are fond of pokemon, I wouldn't say it's kiddie-ish. I believe that Pokemon is suitable for all ages, and everyone has the right to decide if they like it ir not. On the other hand, it can be kiddie-ish, because there are no such things as pokeballs or a place call Vermillion. But as long as we all have our own imaginations and enjoyments, we don't have to think about if it's real or not, because that's not the point. The point is if are all fond of pokemon, that is one of the things other people can't take from you.

Absolutely not. I love the Pokemon series. I was hooked ever since my cousin brought Pokemon Red over to my house. I think that's been 5 or 6 years now (I'm not sure, though). All through grade school, I was the ultimate Pokemaniac. I mean, I could name all 150 Pokemon in order, plus their types etc. However, when the popularity of the games went through the roof, and the anime (which I think is really crappy, imho) and the card game and all sorts of other things came out all at once, I think they were doing too much, too fast. For the first series of cards, I was a hard-core collector and player. I have all of the first 150 Pokemon. The card game is simple enough for young children to play it, but there's enough room for strategy that someone older can find enjoyment in it, as well. Which is exactly what they've done with the games. As more and more games are being released, they're coming up with more and more little nuances and side-quests that the younger and more inexperienced (no offence indended) tend to skip or overlook. I think it's an incredibly well-made and fun game, and it definately wins my vote for replay value. ------------------- "If you're joking, that's cruel. You've got to remember, most people don't like something because "the crowd" doesn't like it. And if they can't fully grasp the concept either. ------------------- ![]() I may fall, but from ebony embers I shall rise once again.

I'm sure you are fond of saying such sentences with their own terms, we can all understand that. But do you think that's a little bit off-topic when it comes to talking in this thread, Dranzer?

No, it's not off topic, because I was talking about why people think it's kiddie-ish and what I like to do to those who do. ------------------- ![]() I may fall, but from ebony embers I shall rise once again.

plbbth! who the **** cares what other people think of you? I'm 12 and i love the game, and all my friends think its stupid. Do what you like to do, whether it's doing math or rollerblading. Wear what you want- if they insult you, they're the creeps, and you can laugh about thinking how they'll be when they're twenty and have no job, no aparment, and are addicted to fifteen different drugs. Who's the loser then?
