Don't make stupid and unnecessary posts and you will be following this rule and also don't unnecessarily double-post. We've already had spam problems here and we don't want it happening again. Spamming will result in a punishment. If you see a spam post, use the report button to warn a moderator. If a post is extremely offensive, you can remove it from view after clicking the report button, but be aware that abusing this button will result in a punishment as well. Off Topic Posts - Although this is not the most serious of offenses, we ask you to try and keep your posts relevant at all times. A bit of chatting is acceptable, but going to far off topic will result in your posts being deleted. Duplicate Posts - This one has been happening a lot recently and is very annoying. Before making a new thread, make sure a similar one doesn't already exist. No that we have a thread index, there is no excuse for duplicate threads. Flaming - I suppose you could call flaming eBullying. Be polite to people and don't be nasty for no reason. This is a serious offense and will result in a long ban. It's as simple as that. Memberating - Memberating is when a member tries to do the job of a forum moderator and is very annoying. It's OK to redirect people, but don't request closure on a thread or knock a thread by saying "What a useless thread!" or something similar. Mods really don't like this and doing so will result in punishment. Advertising - Again this is a punishable offense. Do not link to other sites n your posts that could take traffic away from Neo. This is only allowed through your Custom Title, Signature or Profile. Illegal or Copyrighted Stuff - Posting illegal stuff, or stuff that has been copyrighted is strictly prohibited and is not allowed under any circumstances, period. This will result in a big, big punishment. Pornography - Do not post anything with pornographic content - we have young members. Although it has never been allowed on Neo, there has recently been a zero tolerance policy on porn. Anybody who posts pornographic content will be severely punished. Bypassing Bans - If you have been banned from this forum, don't bother creating a secondary account to bypass it - admin will know who you are and will ban your IP address from the site. If you continue to abuse the board, the site administrators can contact your internet provider and have your connection cut off completely just for abusing the site. Simple as. Spoilers - When posting a spoiler, you should use one of the methods that is shown in the Official Liberty City Stories Spoiler Policy. Deliberately not warning people of a spoiler and hence spoiling the story for them will result in a big punishment. Chatting - If you want to speak to an individual member, then use the NeoPM system for this rather than doing so in the forums. Thread Titles - To put this simply, keep the title of a new thread short, sweet and to the point. We don't want huge thread titles, e.g. instead of "Please help me, I'm stuck and I don't know what to do now!", consider "Please help! I'm stuck!". Bumping Threads - If a thread is dead and hasn't been posted in for a long time, please don't unnecessarily bring it back to the front page just by saying something like "LOL" or "Bump". If you wanna bring back an old thread, make sure you have good reason first. Font Colors - Although not really important, please make sure the font colors in your posts are decent so that people can actually read them unless of course you are posting a spoiler. Co-moderation - Do not PM anybody requesting a moderator position on this forum. The only way you can request the position is through this thread. Asking for the position from anyone else is a punishable offense. Impersonation - Basically, don't make a new account to break the forum rules with. Again, admin know who you are. Games and Quiz threads - These MUST be GTA related. If you wish to make a thread which falls into this category, you must get my permission first. This message was edited by Tom on Dec 30 2008. Forum Related FAQs I've got a problem. Who should I contact? If you are a guest, I'm afraid there's not much you can do unless you don't mind everything going public. If you are a member, you can PM me or the current section mod with any queries about the Vice City Stories forum. If you have problems with another forum, contact the moderator of that forum or section. Only in extreme circumstances should you PM a supermoderator or an administrator. I've seen someone breaking rules. What should I do? If you see somebody breaking the rules, click the report button found at the bottom right of each post to warn a moderator. If necessary, send a PM to me or the current section mod. ONLY if the problem is extremely bad, contact a supermoderator. Never try to deal with a rule breaker yourself - this is memberating and is a banable offence. How do I get a description under my thread title? Only moderators can add descriptions, however if you think a witty description could be useful, feel free to ask. I'm a guest - can I still post? Yes. At the moment there are no restrictions as to how much guests can post, so feel free to make as many posts as you wish (obviously don't go too far). Guests are becoming a problem! What can be done? We can restrict what guests can post just as we can with members, so if they start becoming a problem, PM me or or the current section mod and we'll sort the problem. Don't worry about guests coming back - we can ban them just as easily as we can ban members. I'm having problems with all of Neo! What can I do? The best place to start is here. This is a sitewide FAQ, dealing with problems all over Neo, but if you still have problems, ask someone. How do I post? At the bottom of the forum there is a start new thread link. You can make a new thread from there. If you wish to reply to an existing thread, simply open up the thread, scroll to the bottom and click the reply button. If you still have problems, ask someone, as there may be a good reason as to why you cannot post. I'm very keen to help out - what should I do? Neo welcomes people who want to help out and help improve the forums. If you think something needs doing, either post it in this thread or PM a mod about it. Don't be PMing mods just so you can get noticed as a worthy mod, as not only will this not work, it can be very annoying if done too often for mods and section mods alike.
