Forum Rules, FAQ, Suggestions, Feedback and Announcements |

Grand Theft Auto With the growth of the forum here, I'm going to put up a quick RFS/Forum Rules thread until a new moderator is chosen to handle the forum. The Sitewide Rules are first and foremost. Most of this is just common sense, really, and it's pretty obvious that for the most part, from the lack of moderator involvement, you guys are doing fine and are within forum rules. Please note, this is just a quick ruleset for now, and is subject to change at any time by myself, or a future moderator. Thanks! 1. Off Topic Posts Although this is already listed in Neoseeker's forum rules, it would be good for all to review this specific rule itself. Any off topic posts will and can be deleted. This means that, unless it is specific to that thread or in the general discussion as set out by the original post, it will be deleted. If I begin to find similar posts all over the place, expect a short ban. Also, any short, one liner posts will also be dealt with accordingly, since most of the time, they contribute absolutely nothing to the discussions at hand. 2. Gaming/Non-GTA Threads These must be passed by me or Raijin1999 before being created please, or they may face deletion if there are too many in the forum. As for other threads, if they are asking for assistance, please answer their question and report the message. 3. Quoting Please only quote if need be, such as to draw attention to a point or if the posts was several back. Otherwise, don't, as it does not help the thread to have six paragraphs and two lines in response. 4. Flaming and Trolls Twenty day ban, no questions, if I see a flame war. When you insult any member, expect one of these to be flung in your general direction. 5. Memberation I can use the mod queue. If you can't and decide to circumvent me, then your post will be edited. Repeated memberation will get you banned for a short period of time. While stop gap, myself and Raijin1999 are the only two moderators here for the section, and no moderator has been promoted yet. Until then, please use the handy report feature ( 6. Titles of Threads If I can't tell the general idea of the thread from the title, then it is most likely not sufficient for your needs. This is more of a suggestion, as it is not I who will need help, but you. So give your thread a meaningful name, and not "HELP!!1!!1". 7. Language We speak English on Neoseeker, and not some form of chatbox slang, 1337 or msn shorthand. If I can't decipher your post, it's worthless, therefore spamming and will be deleted. 8. Double Posting These will be merged. If I see too much of this, then prepare to recieve a warning. There is an amazing tool called 'Edit' ( 9. Reporting Posts One report for a thread full of spam is fine, thanks, as I can find my way and read through the thread from there. Several posts in a row moved to the mod queue is just a pain to get through. If the entire thread is full of spam, mention it to me in the report summary and I will deal with it. Flaming the thread creator in your report doesn't help either, so making a report saying: quoteWon't be looked upon kindly. See rule number 4. Please follow these rules and hopefully you'll stay will be enjoyable. This message was edited by Devastate(moderator) on Nov 04 2009. | |

More to come soon!
Forum Related FAQs I've got a problem. Who should I contact? I've seen someone breaking rules. What should I do? How do I get a description under my thread title? I'm a guest - can I still post? Guests are becoming a problem! What can be done? I'm having problems with all of Neo! What can I do? How do I post? Can I be a mod here as well? I'm very keen to help out - what should I do? Forum Related FAQs I've got a problem. Who should I contact? If you are a guest, I'm afraid there's not much you can do unless you don't mind everything going public. If you are a member, you can PM the current moderator, Chirovette, with any queries about the Vice City Stories forum. If you have problems with another forum, contact the moderator of that forum or section. Only in extreme circumstances should you PM a supermoderator or an administrator. I've seen someone breaking rules. What should I do? If you see somebody breaking the rules, click the report button found at the bottom right of each post to warn a moderator. If necessary, send a PM to the current section mod. ONLY if the problem is extremely bad, contact a supermoderator. Never try to deal with a rule breaker yourself - this is memberating and is a bannable offense. How do I get a caption under my thread title? Only moderators can add descriptions, however if you think a witty caption could be useful, feel free to ask. I'm a guest - can I still post? Yes. At the moment there are no restrictions as to how much guests can post, so feel free to make as many posts as you wish (obviously don't go too far). Guests are becoming a problem! What can be done? We can restrict what guests can post just as we can with members, so if they start becoming a problem, PM the current section mod and we'll sort the problem. Don't worry about guests coming back - we can ban them just as easily as we can ban members. I'm having problems with all of Neo! What can I do? The best place to start is here. This is a sitewide FAQ, dealing with problems all over Neo, but if you still have problems, ask someone here. How do I post? At the bottom of the forum there is a start new thread link. You can make a new thread from there. If you wish to reply to an existing thread, simply open up the thread, scroll to the bottom and click the reply button. If you still have problems, ask someone, as there may be a good reason as to why you cannot post. Can I be a mod here as well? Never ever ask if you can be a co-mod. This is very pointless, as normally you'll immediately be denied. If a co-mod is ever needed, one will be requested. But the odds are that we won't, so don't ask. If the forum needs a mod and doesn't have one, try here. I'm very keen to help out - what should I do? Neo welcomes people who want to help out and help improve the forums. If you think something needs doing, either post it in this thread or PM a mod about it. Don't be PMing mods just so you can get noticed as a worthy mod, as not only will this not work, it can be very annoying if done too often for mods and section mods alike.
