Is Vic Vance really dead? |
|
I heard in the opening scene of Vice City, Vic Vance dies in the police raid as drugs are being dealt. I was interested and so I dusted off Vice City and stuck it in the PS2, watched the opening scene, but didn't see Vic. Anywhere. I am assuming that Vic was the guy who had the briefcase and told Tommy that he had a deal, and if that was Vic, then;
A. It looked NOTHING like him B. Even if it was him, why did he look so old? There were only 2 years between Vice City and Vice City stories, and finally; C. Why was his voice different in the two versions of the game? I am curious now, can someone clear this up? Sadly I can't find a picture of GTA Vice City 1's version of Vic. ![]() Interesting how they look so different. In Vice City (the original) Vic has hair and a 'tash and looks older but in VCS he is bald and fresh faced, even though there is so little time period before the two character models. ------------------- Gone

I doubt that is Vic Vance in the picture, I mean did Lance ever mention Vics name in the story missions of VC1?

Okay, but what about the completely different accent when he speaks?

Meh I just find GTA history fascinating and I like it when all the pieces of the puzzle have been put together.

quote ChiroVetteMe too, Chiro. Vic is a cool character, (my second favourite, second to Tommy V of course) and I hope he didn't die. He looks totally different in Vice City 1986 so i think that wasn't him at all. ------------------- Gone

I doubt they (Rockstar) will give us any more information, just like they didn't tell us anything about what happened to Tommy Vercetti between 1986 and the 1990's - why did Wayne and Jeffro abandon the boat yard in Vice City and leave for San Andreas? And why did Ken Rosenberg leave Vice City for San Andreas and abandoned Tommy? (He even called CJ Tommy once, to which CJ says, "Who the hell is Tommy?"
But that's another story. Fact is Rockstar seem to have a habit of keeping information such as this from us. ------------------- Gone

Well not unless they intend on bringing back all 5 protagonists for one game.

re: Is Vic Vance really dead? |
quote trendyskamanAll I heard is that he had "asthma" (which we all know isn't that life threatening, hell I have had it since I was a kid), and even so, Vice City is set two years later, so he might have recovered from whatever else he was suffering from. Lets have a look at the facts shall we? Vic says he is done with drugs, so Lance turns to his other brother for help, Pete. Togeter they continue the drug business and leave Vic out of it, (which is why he isn't seen in Vice City) and Pete ends up being caught up in a botched drug deal and is killed. Not Vic, who said he is done with drugs. This would explain why the two models look and sound so different between 1984 and 1986. That is one theory, although Chiro's theory is also equally plausible - quote Chiro Vette ------------------- Gone
