a good counter team VS the elite 4:

Lapras.

Venusaur.

Charizard.

Alakazam.

Pidgeot.

pikachu.


if you see pikachu and venusaur counter lorerelei who uses ice and water (charizard is there to kill jynx), with Venusaur, lapras and pidgeot, bruno, does not stands a chance due that he uses rock and figthing, Agatha who uses ghost, posion and flying is no match to alakazam, lance falls to lapras and pikachu, finally gary team, is perfectly countered, exegutor cant put much of a dent on chraizard, sanslash is killed by either lapras or venusaur, his jolteon/flareon/vaporeon is countered by venusaur, larpas or alakazam, or even pikachu, the rest of his team, is easy due that he also has a fearrow and cloyster both are easy preys for pikachu, im not usre if he has an alakazam, if he does, you migth be in trouble so you migth wnat to be sure that charizard has wing atack, and move out pidgeot for butterfree (bugs OWN psychic.)

I wouldnt recommend getting an alakazam since its move sets would either suck or not according to the guy you trade but yeah, its fine with the guy up theres

but you can customize your alakazam, just put on him recover, pyschic, psybeam, and a filler move, alakzam is one of the pokemons with highest ATK on R/B/Y and from G/S/C it has one of the most higher SP ATK's all 'round

Yeah then, but it also would depends i mean there are those moves you may wanna teach him in the filler move but you can't because it would learn by leveling up, then that would be a problem. Now, if you would, you could change the recover for hypnosis and use some hp ups and buy a few super potions. and there, the filler move could be dream eater, so you dont even need the recover one. you can put them to sleep, recover, and kill them, all at the same time

And would articuno be good to be there or not? I think not because it would have weakness doubles for lightning, but if he could use a rock pokemon?

thats why i suggested a switch with lapras, rock pokes have no busniess in the E4.

its a good combo sadly hypnosis has somewhat low acc, but if you pull it off it also consits on luck.

What was the name... oh yeah x accuracy. buy a few and its dead on. it takes you one turn, but you make it off next one and kill them over next, so it would go perfect! too bad it takes too long, but you recover you hp, and next fights it goes well. but bug owns psychic, so he would have to move it out.

i meant that if hypnosis hits, there is a chance that only last one turn :/.

yeah, but with pp up and x accuracy you can use it over and over then recover in one turn when it lasts

Just about anything will beat them if you've got the levels for it. If you got that far on the two you have, I'd say just keep trying. If you really can't put a dent in them without a bigger party, you might just have to start the game over. That's what I had to do in Diamond my first time through.
