This looks good, I'll join
Name - Sol Age - 23 Gender - Male Appearance - ![]() Personality - Friendly, but quite. A bit of a lone wolf, but nonetheless warm hearted and kind. Race - Humes Weapons - A black Boar Spear, and dual pistols. Hometown - A kingdom by the name of Athena. A technologically advanced society, but with a mass of poverty. Sol grew up in poverty here, but broke away from this life after he became 18. Kingdom - Athena Background - Sol grew up in a slum of the docks of Athena. Poor his entire life, he did not have the pleasantries many kids had. He had few friends, and mostly kept to himself. His mother and father tried to bring their son up as well as they could, but not too long after his eleventh birthday, Sol's father fell ill with a terminal disease. On his deathbed, he told Sol that all of the possessions in a compartment under the floorboards of the basement were his now. After his father's death, Sol looked for this case. Finally, he found a tarnished bronze case about 7 feet long. Opening it, he found a spear and two guns. To this day, he holds these possessions with him, bound by soul. The day he turned 18, he bid his mother goodbye, and left to make a new life for himself. Not two months into his journey, he recieved word that his mother had been found dead, a heart attack. Sol now appears soulless, and callous, but he does not mean to play this card. He now is in search of belonging, and a new life. Social Life - Sol doesn't talk much, but when engaged in conversation, he is intelligent and enjoys a good debate. Many who meet him grow fond of him, but he never stays in one place too long. Occupation - Roamer. Materia - White materia, ability to cure. How's that? -------------------

OOC: Well, here it goes. The start of the story. I don't plan to meet up with anyone for quite a few posts. So unless you're part of the Franciscan Kingdom, it would likely interfere where I want this to go. And if you have any problems understanding the story, please let me know and I will help you out.
/ooc The gray sky moved slowly over the plains. A young man with blonde hair lay on the hillside dressed in a black T-Shirt with matching pants. It was early. He had been thinking of the same subject for sometime now. War. The most aggressive and engaging battle he would ever be acknowledged about. This boy's name was Jude, and philosophy was his game. ------------------- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

The day was good. Cloudy, just the way they liked them. Barely any rain, but most important, no sun at all, that thing always got in your way. Arcadia wasn't too bad an empire in general, but the omnipresent military definitely got annoying after a while. Security shouldn't come at the cost of liberty. Millions of things can flash through your mind in seconds, for Nix and Flora this was quite normal, other people had more problems with that.
They were in one of the major cities of Arcadia: Carthach. A huge city, which is just what Nix and Flora need, since it is easier to hide that way and the military is spread thinner, even if more soldiers are present than usually. Nix wore his cloak, hiding his materia and weapons, even though the soldiers probably suspected him of having it thanks to that cloak. Flora was less suspect, even though she had to wear her sword for all to see, but just because she was a woman, a hume woman, people didn't think too much of her, which was their mistake. If she'd had been an Elf or a Viera, people would look at her completely differently. Even though Nix and Flora were close to each other, literally and figuratively, they kept a small distance from each other, so people wouldn't immediately know they were together. The morning passed, nothing interesting was to be found. No-one even needed guides or bodyguard in this damned kingdom, there simply was no need because no-one travelled unless necessary. And those who had to, did it more often and thus had their usual guides and guards, unfortunately. By noon they had hence left the interior of the city and wandered in the direction of a nearby forest so they could talk and be closer to each other. Their conversation had no serious tone today, there was nothing important to tell, besides where they would travel next. They could go anywhere they wanted, but decided to remain in the vicinity for a few days. ------------- OoC: A bit rusty at writing... ------------------- ![]()

Running away was a lot easier than she ever suspected. She thought someone would somehow guess her intentions, somehow they knew she was leaving... somehow. Yet, all she got as she walked down the cobblestone road crammed with people were a few chipper hellos. Commoners and nobles alike, all going about their daily buisness.
Had she been anyone else the guards in which lingered about the place would have stopped her. They would have demanded she stop, that she drop her weapons, and that she come with them. If she had been anyone else she would have been walking around looking much like everyone shuffling around her, clad in dark loose fitting attire, bearing no weapons, and looking to the ground whenever a guard was watching them. But she was Victoria, daughter of Edward and Liza Carlean. She was a noble, she was kind in the eyes of everyone and a good girl with a good head on her shoulders. She had a reputation and she was known. This girl, this sensible kind girl, would never try anything out of the norm. She would serve her country, donate to the army, perhaps loan them some of the many weapons her father left behind. However, that was how the public looked upon Victoria, prizing this favorable opinion of the young Viera. She was running away from this dreadful place and no one even suspected it. In truth, she would have been someone people would have stared at with wide curious eyes. She was beautiful, as her race is known for being, large bouncy golden curls, large red-brown bunny ears, light sharp face, tanned skin, and sapphire eyes that were forever speculative. Within her brown coat which had been thrown over her golden corset were two daggers, deadly and lethal. On her large brown belt was clasped a sheath and within it an equally deadly sword was held. She walked briskly toward the woods. This was where she would go first, travel through them and from there find the place she dreamed fondly of. A place where petty wars never occurred, where conflict hardly ever took place, and power and land was shared equally among it's people. A place which would be the polar opposite of where she lived now. However, as her gazed was fixed upon the woods she saw two people heading the same way, both in which looked highly suspicious in her eyes. Her rosy lips were pursed as she narrowed her blue eyes. It really shouldn't have been too odd, but something seemed slightly off about the two, something she couldn't quite place. Why were they heading to the woods as well? ------------------- Congratulations! You just wasted five seconds of your life!

Name – Talvin Libkwa Li
Age - 36 Gender – Male. Appearance – Few can match Talvin's facial expression range. Fewer can actually pull off all of them at the same time. Contrasting with his personality, everything about him has a double meaning; he with a happy expression can easily come across as him being pissed as vice versa. Even his facial features seem to be obscure; his natural eye color is green, but due to an affliction, looking at certain degrees of light causes his eye color to change (which, means that complete night is the only time his natural eye color is present). His nose and jaw line are both well-defined, and he can be considered handsome by most, although a little strange due to his pale complexion. He has seemed to be graced with more than just one natural affliction; his hair has its right half in a blue color, the left half in a pink color, with a circle of golden-blonde in the middle, all without physical alteration. His body shape is also fairly insignificant, a lean man with almost inexistent muscle along with a medium height. Of course, insignificant is the word to be used when only seeing the outside of such things, scars litter his torso, as do tattoos of different meaning. His most significant tattoo is actually a kind of 'seal' scripted onto his chest, a kind of substitute for a kind of Materia, supplying its own power. Other seals upon him are actually power outlets for this 'main seal' of sorts. Note: Will be defined in the Materia section. His style of dress is an unusual one, though not as far to be considered unattractive. Each piece of his clothing always has a comical scene depicted upon it, usually involving two key characters; Em the Viera and Ja the Ronso. Em is the protagonist of each scene, and Ja is the opposite, and in comical ways, Em manages to save himself from the vicious Ja, and in each of these storylines, a moral is always told. His trademark robe is a grand collection of all these scenes, all of them being depicted upon that article of clothing. His bottom-wear are usually a pair of jean-like clothing, reaching three quarters of his legs, and always having an image of Em and Ja on the left and right side, respectively. Personality – Opposite of his enigmatic appearance, Talvin's personality is very straight forward; to do what is right. Living completely by the morals told by the images upon his robe, he comes off as a very justice-respecting man, but also kind and generous enough to not be confused as a law enforcer of an iron fist. However these morals are also very basic in terms of day-to-day situations of life which is where Talvin's way of living comes in. Living in a rather uncivilized part of Francisco where death is right around the next corner, Talvin has adopted a form of personality where the path of least resistance is also the answer, as long as it fulfills all the goals set by the morals upon his robe. These ideals are reflected in his fighting styles, utilizing objects available within the environment, and always trying to help his friends in a way that it would also hinder his enemies. In a pressure to follow his lifestyle, he has grown to be an extremely quick-thinker, to the point of genius; able to view situations from almost all perspectives, at times, even through the perspective of his enemies' minds using his evolved intuition. Race – Hume Weapons – Talvin is a sole believer in the fact that nature is always the greatest weapon. Using whatever he can at hand, he can possibly turn a stick into a doomsday weapon in the right situations. However, besides that, his body is what he considers the next powerful weapon, due to its versatility. He has taught himself numerous amounts of self-crafted martial arts, all created from the knowledge that a style is needed to achieve victory in a certain type of situation. Every situation he encounters is afterwards is always greeted with a self-made martial art to counter such a condition. To this day, he has crafted an innumerable amount of martial arts, at times just to counter a trivial thing as a distracting insect bite. Hometown – Gottem Kingdom – Francisco Background – Talvin was a man seemingly birthed into the world through the will of an upper power. He has no knowledge of his parents, or any members of his family for that matter. Though it apparent he is a figure of destiny, having been birthed into the town of Gottem, a town where misfortune rules and living conditions are almost inexistent. The place is almost a bane to living matters, day by day people died, out of losing their will to live. It took power and the ability to fight to survive; to be able to attack for what food one had, or to be able to defend and preserve your living supplies. Killing was preservation, and miraculously, as Talvin grew up by himself in a den where he himself had stumbled upon had learned. He had seen men fighting to the death with their bare hands, fingers actually ripping through other men's flesh. Through these images he knew he had to leave to maintain a better knowledge of survival and then comeback as a pacifist to help the lowly citizens of Gottem. Venturing into a well-off town a huge distance away with only his will to help him, he was adopted by kindly families who had no children but were already at a past-ripe age. Enrolling him within a high-level academy and was taught the ways of a fighter and also a heavy degree of theology. For sometime a highly religious man, always preaching to his peers and wishing he could do the same for his people in Gottem, he was brought to the strange reality of life through an epidemic that spread through his new town. Killing a vast majority of the people, but sparing Talvin. Such an epidemic seemed to have triggered a kind of new form of logic into him, knowing that God would never permit such a thing, and that action by man was what was necessary for revitalizing things to their full potential. And thus, he would embark on a spiritual and physical journey to become the savior of Gottem, and his newer town, Nasiz. Social Life – Known to the survivors of the Nasiz plague as a savior of an upper power's cause. He is well renowned in the Gottem town but does not receive labeling as a martyr given the rather crude and brutish manner of Gottem's civilian. Occupation – Hunter. Self-acclaimed savior of Nasiz and Gottem. Materia – The 'main seal' upon his chest is a substitute of a kind of entity of knowledge, increasing his inhibition, intuition and all together enhances his performance in every matter to the extent that Talvin could possibly achieve, making him as superhume as he could be while still possessing the qualities of a normal hume. It also doubles a conduit for his 'body magic'; a substitute for a Fire materia, and Ice materia. These elements are from properties in his body being altered at a molecular level; the heat in his body being altered into fire, and the water in his body being transferred to ice. Without creativity in its use, it can be used as an exact substitution of the lowest level Ice and Fire materia, but can be used in unique ways with expertise. The secondary seals on his body are used to power this ability of the 'main seal'. This message was edited by who_am_i on Nov 18 2006.

The tranquil clouds, blocking out every stray stream of sunlight, cast a mimicking effect on the ditches on either side of the road. The snow had just recently melted in this isolated plain, leaving miniature ice-burgs in the ground, and cool water in puddles scattered across the grassy marsh. Roan examined his reflection in these said puddles.
The tip of his mane hung stands of silver across his eyes. In his face, it made him look childish, immature, and goofy. He lifted his damp front paws, a trail of water trickling to the grass. In an attempt to clear his face, he lifted his body and shook his head, and an old habit had caused the shudder to descend across his entire body and out through his tail. His fur was smooth and reset. Roan continued along the grass lining the gravel road. -------------------

Jude always carried one weapon at him, at least. Port Rosco Harbor was a lovely town, but it could prove to be most unforgiving in the dead of night. Jude had once been jumped by a group of thugs but managed to fend them off as he had shot one of them to death.
Jude out of the corner of his eyes saw a large prairie dog circle the sheep to herd them back to a farm. He felt the wight of his revolver tighten between his back and belt. A small gleam of sunlight seemed to be trying to press through the clouds. ------------------- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

The bar was packed. Each and everyone in there had their own story to tell. But for a guy like Mar, he could give a *bleep* load less on what these people had to say. In fact, he could give a *bleep* load less on what anyone had to say. Being a lone wolf and all, wasn't really a hard job. It only involved one rule. That rule was watching your own ass and no one else's. Mar was a cold, quiet individual. Unemployed, but he found his way around. He usually got himself obb jobs such as delivering prostitutes to their clients, smuggling illegal weapons out of the country or his personal favorite....Fighting.
Mar was a natural born hunter. He was fast, his strength was pretty good for his size, and he always won. In fact, his next match was about to begin.

Tal looked down upon the peaceful city of Port Rosco, Knowing that only too soon this peaceful city, and the country that surrounded it would soon be engulfed in the trappings of war. Tal seriously did not believe the Franciscan kingdom could win the war they found themselves on the verge of suddenly.
Tal thrust himself out of his musings and to the here and now. Just across the great valley which held the city of Port Rosco in it's protective arms, a great elven host was assembled. This great army was there to demonstrate to the kingdom of Francisca just how loyal to the empire of Archadia they were. Tal had come to do what he could so that he might give the civilians of the town much needed time to escape. Even now, Tal's sensitive eyes made out the front lines of the approaching hoarde. Sighing to himself and wondering how he had gotten himslf in this situation, Tal walked out of the sheltering trees he had been standing under and out into the open. It only took a moment for one of the Elven soldiers to spot him and cry out warning to his fellow soldiers, thinking Tal to be the front of an opposing army. About the time Tal got halfway down the slope they relized that that obseravation had been quite incorrect. They started laughing and jeering at Tal, even as they readied their bows to fill him with wood and steel. As one the released their bows. As one their arrows flew up into the sky, headin for the seemingly defenceless Tal. The already dark sky turned an Ugly black above Tal, the arrows blocking off the sunlight. An as one the elven soldiers stood amazed as their arrows flew every which way, turned aside like paper airplanes by a great shockwave that came from Tal. The golden and silver stones embedded on the top of the shield like object on Tals left arm glowed with a great shine as the energy from the advancing arrows was absorbed.Tal used his free hand to push his glasses up his face, even as he reached for the gun mounted on his back. "You fools! You missed! Fire at him again!" A thick skuuled elven commander cried, bringing attention to himself. Tal smiled as he brought his weapon to bear, and fired three shots in rapid succession. All three hit their mark perfectly, shooting through the unfortunate commanders skull in three differant places, making the elven host start to waver in their want to fight this obviously poweful individual. Tal spared a quick glance over at the town of Port Rosco, pleased to see that they had seen the host, and were preparing thei defences and mobilizing their militia, small though it was. Tal muttered the key to a transformation spell and yelled "Stone to Mud!" While pointing at the mountain beneath theelven hosts feet. The mountain immediately began to weaken and tremble, it's support having been undermined. THe elven host seemed to notice the problem, mostly because they were now sinking into the mud. ------------------- BLEARGH!
