AMD Athlon 1.2 Ghz
256 RAM
Nvidia TNT 2 video card

The game won't work right and it's really pissing me off. It runs choppy and I've tried it under numerous settings.

Hmm, have you tried using This Stuff KFC? It seems to be working with alot of people that have the same problems you do..

This is so annoying I have done anything you could think of and the game still slows down.I am getting a Geforce 4 ti4400 thursday and if it still doesn't work I am going to get 256 more ram(I have 256 already.)

Yea my games proformance sucks too. I tried updating my driver, I close all my programs running, and put all the display options on lowest settings, no success. But I exactly why its running like this for me. I have low memory and too much crap on my computer, Ima get some more ram this weekend and possiably a graphics card. I'm gonna bring the gta3 box and see what I would need;)

I'm still pissed! I downloaded the driver and it still doesn't work! It worked for like 10 seconds and I started to get happy and then it started to go slow again!

Question:
My game is very choppy. The only time I am able to play the game perfectly is when I am using the 'Classic' GTA view. Can someone give me tell me how to set my options? I have Windows 98 and a very strong computer but it still won't run right.

Seems like alot of people are having this problem, whats your video card? This sounds like the same exact thing KFC is going through..

I'm going to tell you the same thing that I tell everyone: Update your video drivers. Other than that, the only thing that I can tell you is turn down draw distance and turn off frames. Could you post your specs?

Ok, I have reinstalled the computer so the computer is running very smoothly. Drivers are all up-to-date, as from now. Barely any other programs, cept the ones needed, are running in the background.
I have a Windows XP machine,
Pentium 4 1.5Ghz,
256MB RAM,
Geforce 2 64MB.

Now this totally excedes everything that is required by the game, yet even at the lowest setting(640 x 480 16bit), with trails off, it runs nearly playable.

I mean this is crazy, my computer should run this no trouble. I play games which are more demanding in high resolutions with much better performance!!

I am very confused to say the least!

Yours is still choppy becuase, from the sound of it, you don't have a very good system. Mine runs well on a

1 Ghz Pentium 3 processor
Windows ME
64 MB GeForce 2 (NVIDIA)
256 RAM

system with plenty o fhard drive space.
