Just like Craig, I can't load my saves in GTA3,
And it ain't no config problem (I'm so :
-AMD XP 1600+
-MSI K7T266PRO2
-256 DDR
-GeFORCE 3 Ti 200 64 Mb DDR
-Windows XP with latest drivers and the graphics patch and DirectX 8.1
The bug is that the games loads the save and then just exit the program, with just a stupid message
"unhandled exeption *" .....

So if any of you knows where the Patch is, I might thank them from my unmeasurable greatness....

Oh yeah I phone there tech surport and they told me to: Delete the movies in the Movie folder (never worked)
and go run goto run and type dxdiag it goes to DX diagonose and everythings fine.

another thing worth mentioning my 8.1 was from a PCGamer DVD dunno if this helps..

I'd like to know what sound card you have, because sometime it contributes to your game crashing. Click on start, press run, type in dxdiag and wait for it to load. Now click on the sound tab at the top. Please tell me the sound card device name and version you're running.

Okay, I found an excellent FAQ that should help you guys with ANY problems that you may find while playing GTA3 PC. Just follow that link.

Forgive me for posting this here but once I installed my geforce 4 my sound went out I am not sure why, I don't have the volume icon on my toolbar and I went to dxdiag to check it out and it says DirectSound test results: Failure at step 3 (DirectSoundCreate): HRESULT = 0x8878000a (The request failed because DirectSound resources, such as the priority level, were already in use by another caller.) So I have no sound, anyone no what to do?

I bought GTAIII last week and despite several calls/emails to Take2 I cannot get it to work!

It installs fine but when I try to run it I get the R* logo in the centre of the screen which then disappears. There is slight screen flicker and hey presto I'm back where I started.

I have tried everything:
- Updated drivers
- Running the game with the Install disk (it never asks for the other disk)
- Changing my Apertunre settings
- Manual uninstall
- Changing anti-aliasing settings
- Closing all other running progs via end task
- Removing movies folder

I have:
Dell Dimension 4100
PIII 1GHz
128Mb RAM
GEForce2 MX 32Mb

I now have to call Take2 again on Monday when they have an engineer available!!

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did u install DX 8.1 from the GTA3 install disk or another place?
Oh yeah i fixed my problem because 4 some reason the DX8.1 I installed earlier did'nt work for GTA3 so I used the one which is inclulded in the install disk

Amd Athlon 1ghz,256SdRam, tnt2 m64
the game work fine until i change my graphics card to winfast geforce 4 mx 440(detnatorXp 28.32)
When i run the game i could see all the text ...
is any fix there ..

My games messages all turn up in squares and my game runs hella slow. Do i need to download the patch??? Please Answer me i really need help!

what operating system do you have? if its xp you probably need the direct 3d patch you can download it here

its working now.

how do i aim with my mouse though?

and i cant find the mp3 station

and i saved my skin in the skins folder, but it isn't on the skins menu in the game
