 Topic: Tier 3 cars - when are they unlocked?

I have beat the first three bosses. I still haven't unlocked any tier 3 cars but am unlocking tier 3 performance upgrades. What am I not doing in order unlock these cars?

You unlock a lot of tier 3 cars in Darius's territory. You unlock some tier 3 parts beforehand though.
