Whether the original DOS version or as part of The First Decade, anyone around here actually played this game? And if you have, what's your thoughts on it?

It's obvious it wasn't meant to be some kind of proper sequel to the original C&C, but I really enjoyed the missions in this game. I read a review on it recently which said that because of the extreme difficulty, players were forced to "move and save" every few minutes in case something went wrong, which isn't entirely untrue, I certainly did that a lot when playing. But even so, I still feel the game was entertaining enough even if all the missions were extremely tough.

I know I have the game lying around somewhere on my desk, however I haven't played it in quite some time.

It obviously was not good enough for my tastes however as I seem to believe, I put it down for the Age of Empires series.

Now I have an urge to go find it in all that clutter and play it.

Well comparing this single game to the Age of Empires series isn't really a fair comparison because this was merely an expansion pack, comparing it to the original C&C would be more justified.

I know that, but I just remember this was the game I was in love with before Age of Empires. I do remember that this game was hard for me, but that was probably because I was roughly 8 or so at the time when I started playing .

Most definatley, there was one mission imparticular that was the REAL test of any Commander.

The Mission is the Nod mission: Under Siege C&C

No money, trapped into ur base, all exits of the canyon ur in blocked be Mammoth Tanks and Rocket Launchers. GDI Have the Ion Cannon and Airstrike ur base every few minutes....

To lesser Commanders a suicide mission........
