Fighting?

Is it just me or is fighting in the game disappeared? Please post how to fight if you know how.

re: Fighting?

I don't have the current-gen version I have the 360 version, but it still should be in. maybe you have the fighting slider all the way down.

re: Fighting?

that's more realistic though. you're tough guys should fight, not you're stars.

re: Fighting?

(I play the PS2 version)

Ensure the fighting slider is all the way up. Only some players are up for fight. Sign Mike Commodore from Carolina. He is the most pugnacious fighter as far as I can tell.

On the rink, tap the down button on the d-pad (easier when one of your players has possession). If you have a fighter on the rink *and* they have a fighter on the rink (sitting on the bench doesn't work), then a bell will ring and you will see their names at the bottom of the screen. Then you have to manoeuvre your fighter close to the opposition fighter and a fight will ensue.

Sometimes their fighter will initiate the proceedings, in which case the fighters names will appear at the bottom of the screen and you need to tap the down bottom on the d-pad to accept the fight. Again, you will then need to get the fighters close to each other.

I think you can increase the chances of a fight by signing up any player who tries to fight against your players. This should help to make sure your team has fighters on the rink at all times of the game, no matter what line is on.

However, you can only get 3 fights per game and fighting is very difficult. I don't think it is as well thought out as the hockey and it is really hard to work out what the heck is going on. Be prepared to lose more than you win.

I think you need to try and block the opponent's punches and then counter with your own. He will telegraph some of them which helps. I try to go into the fight hammering the circle button.

As for players, fighta is right, the best don't fight. Here are some players who I have managed to fight for me:

M. Commodore (D) Carolina Hurricanes
C. Neil (RW) Ottawa Senators
T. Fedoruk (LW) Anaheim Ducks

re: Fighting?

Don't block too often. More often then not, they'll hit you somewhere else. Just keep switching up hitting the face and the body and occasionally try to guess a block to get an unblockable big haymaker back at them. I do reasonably well in fights
